In rewrite when I finish off this chapter the fight scene will be extended, I have some more research to do but decided for now to finish the fight scenes a little on the short side
Chapter 22
Watching the two men leave after being in a no uncertain terms ordered to fix the situation or he would fix it for them Shibi turned back to face Naruto once he was sure the two were out of hearing range, “Well Naruto-sama I would not have ever expected this to happen.”
Snorting Naruto rubbed his head, “And people call me an arrogant know it all kid.”
Shibi stared at Naruto for a moment, “Naruto-sama I for one don’t see your age being a factor, you act more mature at times than most of the Konoha council members ever did, and your arrogance as you put it is more of the attitude of I’m the boss and we are doing things my way.” Looking at the brief hint of stress that came and went on Naruto's face he smiled, “I think it helps that the people truly respect and value you in your country.” Laughing Shibi smirked s he thought of several events over the past few days, seeing the questioning look on Naruto's face he shared his amused thoughts with him, “I was thinking about how you’ve done a splendid job of keeping people off balance ever since you left, even now your Jounin-sensei keeps having his pet theory’s shredded each time you say something else.”
Seeing a small smile creep onto Naruto's face he nodded, his job done for now, “I can tell you from personal experience that your Chuunin exam is ten times harder than any other Shinobi villages. I think the only thing that we have that you don’t is allowing for deaths to occur during the exam, after seeing how yours have played out I think it is harder to showcase your skills in such a way that no deaths happen.”
Naruto stared hard at the Aburame clan head, “Why in the world would you allow that, you’d end up losing valuable manpower by doing that, all over a test to see if you are ready for a promotion?”
“Tempers run high, and some teams use the test to perceived wrongs and misdeeds of other villages during the exam,” Shibi shrugged, it had always been like this so it was strange to see a different way.
“I see,” Naruto frowned, “I’ll have to make it a point to explain this to the teams I send to Konoha for the test then.” Shaking his head at the idiocy of loosing Shinobi over something stupid Naruto glanced back at the bug user who was changing the subject.
“On a different subject all together,” Shibi pulled a scroll out of his pocket as he leaned forward so he could place it on Naruto's desk, “My son’s coded note back to me along with his discovery set in motion an avalanche of Hyuuga defectors. They’re names are on that scroll, most of them have small children that are approaching the time that the cage bird seal would be placed on the children.”
Taking the scroll and nodding slowly that he understood Naruto glanced at all the names with a smile, his talk with Taidachi the other afternoon was going to be a big help with the escaping Hyuuga, the main family was willing to welcome them back with open arms after removal of the caged bird seal. Reaching down he pulled open a skinny drawer and rifled through the stacked maps. Finding what he was looking for he pulled the rolled up map out and went over to the long table and flipped it open, “Of course this is dependent on your approval of the grounds, and the houses there have not actually been touched in about fifteen years, so there is some maintenance to be done…” pointing to a slightly forested district he looked up, “my father left notes on one of the original maps of the most likely places to put the Konoha clans if they left people here after the evacuation when they finally retook the village. This spot is where he set for your clan as it has what his notes call a bug users paradise of resources,” looking down at the notes in the margin with a scowl, “Whatever that means.”
Chuckling Shibi moved over to the long table to look at the map, “Your father had a weird sense of humor when it came to certain things,” looking down wistfully at the map, “he is one of the few people while growing up that did not freak out when he caught sight of my eyes during a mission where my glasses were knocked off, he thought they were…cute,” he winced with that last admission.
Giggling Naruto thought he could just see his father doing something like that, “That is one of the things I miss most about them. I have all these recordings of them they set up to teach me through the years, but they were always so serious and…” throwing his arms up in the air as he stepped back from the table. “They were always so intense, trying to make sure I had everything they could think of to not only survive but to do well,” his voice going soft as he turned to look out the window, “I appreciate I truly do, even if it was only a tape them constantly telling me they loved me and were proud of my progress for doing so well in my training was my lifeline.”
“How…” Shibi went over to Naruto and looked out the window with him, “how were they able to do that?”
Chuckling, the sound not amused Naruto stared at the setting sun, “Each scroll and container was blood and chakra sealed, several of them I had to channel the technique I had learned into the seal for them to open. So in a way even though they weren’t around they knew exactly how far along I was, otherwise the next serious of scroll and tapes would not open.” Looking up at the tall clan head next to him, “And I so wanted more and more of my parents talking to me, to see their faces and hear their voices that I excelled at what they set me to do so I could have more.”
I see, Shibi thought, that explains so much, and by staying in the Academy even though he did not want to be there he kept in contact with his age mates. Though if what Shino had told him over the years and recently Naruto was always donning a happy go lucky prankster personality that the hid behind, ingenious in a way, no one even came close to guessing how string and smart he really was. “I wanted to ask, once the volunteers from my clan move here and start exploring would you be willing to allow any finds they come across to be shared with the clan in Kohona? Some of the insect life here would be useful to use.”
Shaking of the melancholy he was sinking into Naruto grinned, but to those who knew him it was not real, “I think so for most of them, I know there are a couple of bu…insects that I’ve been told are almost gone outside out country so those I want to control to who and why they would leave, but otherwise as long as it is not some of the monsters from the wilds I don’t see why not.”
“Like the scent bugs,” Shibi nodded, “Which were used almost to extinction in the natural habitat. Would you allow us to remove egg cases of some of the more endangered species to try to repopulate what was lost from Firs country, I promise that we will only take those eggs that would have been eaten otherwise.”
“That means you would spend a lot of time watching eggs hatch,” Naruto frowned, “if you were watching how could you save the eggs from being eaten, as no predator would come to eat them.”
“True, but some species when the lay eggs for the first time have yet to learn how to hide their nests, and don’t learn until they come back to check and find the eggs are gone,” Shibi smiled, the question was a good one. “What I propose is to show you what I mean so you can see for yourself, in each instance of my clan wanting to remove some specimens we would show you what we look for and how we know the eggs would be in danger of being eaten.”
Nodding, Naruto shivered, a bug was just a bug to him, but to each their own he guessed, “Alright when the time comes you can show me.”
Hearing footsteps Shibi smiled, “I thank you, I see your next appointment is here so if you don’t mind I will take a walk to the district your father set aside for my clan and take a look around while there is still some light left, some of the most interesting insects come out after it gets dark.”
Nodding with a cross between a surprised and startled look on his face Naruto watched the Aburame clan head leave. Slowly shaking his head he shivered once at the thought of the type of bugs the man might find interesting, after all Shino told him he found the giant ants fascinating.
Looking towards the door to the bridge as it opened Naruto noticed Kako walking in with Miyuki behind her, tilting his head questioningly he smiled as she gave him a shy smile.
“Naruto-kun tonight is the night Miyuki needs to be with Sasuke so she will be with child,” Kako bowed respectfully.
Grinning as he thought of all the fun he could have with this, Naruto motioned for the two to come in, “I take it you have taught both Miyuki and Yumi the technique to ensure pregnancy?”
“Yes I have my lord,” Kako grinned at Miyuki’s embarrassment which from how red she was getting.
Rubbing his hands together Naruto giggled, this was going to be so much fun, “Alright, thank you Kako, I’ll escort Miyuki to the dorms and find an empty one Sasuke can use to make babies.” Seeing the horrified embarrassed look in Miyuki’s posture he giggled some more.
Bouncing down the corridor towards the room assigned to Sasuke and his team Naruto passed several proctors who flattened themselves to the wall before frantically looking around in horror, they just knew that look and step mean someone was going to be pranked to hell and back. Several started sweating profusely as they heard Naruto let out a few giggles.
Knocking on the door before throwing it open Naruto glanced into the room as he tried to control his giggles, after all he needed to have the appropriate game face on to pull this off.
Naruto peaked around the corner of the door waving at the group sitting discussing something, probably strategy, “Hey guys I need to borrow Sasuke for a little bit, I’ll bring him back shortly.”
Getting up Sasuke walked outside the room and looked at Naruto, “Senpai is something wrong.”
“Wrong?” Naruto asked as he turned and smiled, making a motion to follow him. “Not really just some clan business that can’t wait until tomorrow when the test is over.”
Well that is damn cryptic Sasuke frowned as he followed Naruto around the corner only to see he had stopped in front of another door, “What kind of clan business could possibly need me to be involved?”
Smirking Naruto opened the door and ushered Sasuke inside, “The kind that involves you naked, getting hot and sweaty and making babies.”
Hearing voices Miyuki walked out of the bathroom wearing nothing.
Sasuke turned to Naruto confused, mind still on the exam and what tomorrow would bring, turning he caught sight of Miyuki moving into the room completely undressed and blushed furiously. “But…How…When…”
Giggling Naruto leaned closer and whispered in his ear, “Just like the other night, like we talked about. You know what to do now.”
“How…” eyes unable to leave the slinking form walking towards him, Sasuke gulped, “how…many times?”
Nodding as he burned the images into his memory for blackmail material he whispered back, “At least two times without fail, Miyuki has been trained to take it from there.” Glancing at Sasuke and seeing his body react normally even though his brain was disconnected. Walking towards the door he glanced back as Miyuki had removed Sasuke’s shirt, ‘boy he is sure red all over, hope he doesn’t faint on her’.
The guards in the corridor shivered as they heard Naruto giggling.
Naruto beamed at Sasuke standing in the arena who was still blushing as he looked up at him, oh what a memory that was. Shaking himself out of the trip down memory lane Naruto gazed at the crowd, “Today…” the crowd quieted as the candidates looked up at him, “today is the final phase of your exam. From the moment you entered the exam you have been constantly observed and graded and today the final two parts are upon us. One of the requirements Whirlpool has to become a Chuunin is to be able to be proficient in Jutsu’s unrelated to your elemental affinity, so before we start the individual battles each of you will be tested by one of the proctors. The first thing they will test is your elemental affinity then you must prove to them you have mastered a technique using your affinity before showcasing two different techniques using non affinity Jutsu.”
Sitting back down Naruto glanced over to his right where the Contingent from Konoha had been placed, spotting a tired looking old man walking down the steps he grinned as the Sandaime Hokage took a seat behind Hyuuga Hiashi without being seen. The meeting from that morning was still amusing as the proud and arrogant leader of the strongest, most elite clan in Konoha was brought down several pegs by Taidachi during their conversation. It all boiled down to the fact that to achieve acknowledged independence as a recognized clan in their own rights they would have to have all knowledge of how to do and use the cage bird seal removed from the whole clans mind. Not only that all branch family members who wished to rejoin the main family would be given the chance to do so, in effect the clan’s dirty little secret was going to cost them almost half their clan members as they were reabsorbed back into the main family. Now he just needed to figure out a way to tell Hinata she was betrothed to Seiba.
Sitting down behind the defeated looking Hyuuga leader the Third looked across to the assembled candidates with surprise, there were so many down there. Frowning as the thought circulated in his head, that meant each of them had survived everything he had seen on the tapes so far, most unsettling he thought. Gazing around the stand he saw another unsettling thing to his mind, the Shinobi forces were equal if not larger than his own, not only that he noticed that each of the candidates was being tested for elemental affinity, something most of the other villages didn’t do until the person reached Jounin level. Then there was the fact the Konoha Genin below showed such skill, skill he never would have thought they had achieved yet. Then again they had been pushed by the number on most surprising ninja, even if he was no longer part of their village. The thing was he needed to further ally the two villages, puffing on his pipe as he watched the individual combat start he tried to think of some way to tie Naruto to the village.
Grinning at a job well done, Naruto looked over the shoulders of the exam proctors from his higher seat to see how the two had scored. It looked like there would be two more Chuunin come the end of the day, turning back to the arena when he heard a name of interest he sat back as the next match was called.
“Uchiha Sasuke your opponent will be Tidori Kai”
Walking down the stairs Sasuke turned to his opponent when he spoke to him.
“So how do you want to do this?” Kai looked over at Sasuke as they walked down the stairs and into the arena.
“Do what,” Sasuke frowned before nodding, “Well this is supposed to be a showcase of our skills so why don’t we start with the basics and move on.”
Grinning wickedly Kai nodded eagerly, “Sounds perfect.”
“Begin…”
Slipping into the ready position one palm down arm extended with the other arm in the air behind him Sasuke grinned, “Taijutsu to begin with.”
Smiling Kai slipped into his family stance as he noticed Sasuke slip into one of the Mika family stances, eyes widening slightly as he took in the stance he frowned, what was he up to he was Sharingan user so how could he think to use the Juuken style the Mika were famous for.
As the two opponents studied each other in silence, each taking in the others stance and what it could mean Naruto glanced over at Taidachi who was surprised, he doubted anyone other than himself knew what the Sharingan could really do. But it seems Sasuke figured a few things out on his own, and it must have been with Hinata’s help.
Crash
Duck
Slap
Kai frowned, what the hell that was the Juuken style…but that, ducking under another open palmed attack he started to sweat as he felt the slight numbing effect take hold in his wrist as his opponents hand grazed his in a glancing block.
Sasuke had been practicing with chakra control, pushing only enough chakra towards his eyes to activate his Sharingan but not enough to fully activate it he grinned as he saw the ghosting image of Kai’s chakra pathways, while he did not have the all seeing eyes the Hyuuga did he did have a little of their ability. Smiling as Kai backed off quickly as he nursed his arm he nodded, it had worked and that was enough. Deactivating the Sharingan he slipped into his family’s stance totally confusing his opponent as he pulled out one of his Kunai and showed it to Kai, “Shall we.”
Shaking off the numb feeling Kai smiled as he slipped his own Kunai out and nodded as he attacked.
Clang…the two met in mid air, disappearing from their spots in a blur only to land several feet from each other both grinning. After a few minutes of clashing and ducking thrown Shuriken’s and Kunai Kai yelled out, “Next level Ninjutsu…”
Grinning Sasuke flashed through a set of seals before mumbling out, “Hidden mist technique…” waiting until the fog rolled in he flashed to the right until he was out of the mist and started to go through another set of seals before yelling out, “Proctor I request a simulacrum stand in, death technique being held. Hoping he remembered right from watching the Dragon exam he held off on the last seal, chakra building uncomfortably.
Shocked the proctor turned and looked up to the box where Naruto was sitting to see him standing on the railing looking down with a look of surprise in his face.
Naruto was surprised but slightly proud that Sasuke took to heart the no unnecessary killing and used his father’s technique to grab Kai and bring him back to the proctor before anyone had a chance to blink, “Proceed with your Jutsu, the field is clear.”
Hearing Naruto-senpai giving he all clear Sasuke smiled as he finished the last seal and blew out, “Katon: combo Mist of the Volcano…Flashover.” Releasing the seal his two combined attacks of a water and fire technique instead of cancelling each other out flashed into superheated steam that instantly boiled everything inside the mist.
Feeling the heat being released from halfway across the arena Kai paled dramatically, he had never heard of someone stopping the match like Sasuke had, but being instantly transported to the proctor’s side by the Uzumaki he shuddered as the steam billowed out and the ground and plants were boiled. The dummy that had been left in the spot he must have been standing in was nothing but a pile of cooked looking meat and bones.
“DAMN…” the proctor muttered as he took in the carnage, “That has to be at least an elite Jounin level Jutsu.” Looking at Uzumaki-sama he saw the intense concentration on his face before looking at Kai, “I’m sorry Tidori-san, but if he had used that move you would be dead.”
Gulping as he nodded frantically Kai used both hands to wave the thought of starting the match back up, “I resign from the match as dead.”
“Winner…Uchiha Sasuke,” the proctor yelled out as he stared at the over boiled simulacrum.
Kakashi actually fell out of his seat when he saw Sasuke’s Ninjutsu move and the after effects, something that dangerous had to be at least A-rank if not higher, looking up at Kurenai who was just as shocked as he was he spotted the Hokage in next row back. And the look on his face showed he was completely stunned, glancing over at the rest of the Konoha contingent he saw their shocked looks as he got into his seat.
Swallowing hard the Hokage watched as Sasuke greeted and laughed with his opponent as they walked off the field, Kakashi were you able to catch the seals used in that technique?”
Exposed eye closed Kakashi shook his head, “I am afraid not Hokage-same, though the first part of the technique was the hidden mist technique that Zabuza used on us in Wave.” Shaking his head he wondered, “Though to tell you the truth I wonder when he had a chance to learn it.”
“Remarkable, for a Genin to have the skill to use such a technique or the chakra reserves and control to pull it off,” the Third mused as he watched the next match start.
