Journey to a New Start ch 09

Chapter 9

Pushing his plate to the side of the desk Harry once again started to work on the map trying to decide where to place the new house tree communities.

He had already chosen a site not that far away from the seed tree grove, he had checked on the growth of the sapling turned mature tree after it had tapped the pool of magic deep under the earth and was very pleased to find that it was ready for habitation.

This weekend might be the best time to plant the rest of the grove Harry thought, he could get this grove off the ground and leave the rest to his new subjects.

Harry stopped his thinking and sat up straight that was just wrong, thinking about those who were going to move into his lands as his subjects. Shaking his head Harry vowed never ever to allow himself to think that way again.

A knocking on the door frame to his office caused him to break out of his thoughts, looking up he noticed Saero along with Trava’in and one other he did not recognize standing there.

Saero seeing Harry look up chuckled and told him. “Hiding in your office again I see.”

Motioning for them to come in Harry finished it with a wave of his hand in front of his desk thus conjuring three comfortable chairs.

“Come on in, have a seat, would you like something to drink.” Harry smiled at his surprise guests.

As the trio of Lords sat down Harry called out. “Trisky.”

When the little house elf popped in the room she saw the empty plates from the finished meals and said. “Sir has finished his meal.”

Then her voice scolding Trisky told him. “Sirs other guests have finished eating and are walking around out side.”

Turing around to pick up the dirty dishes Trisky let out a squeak. “Eeep.”

Bowing her head several times Trisky was horrified she had an audience as she scolded her Sir for letting guests to eat at his table and not show up.

“Trisky is sorry she did not see High Ones.” She told them as she fidgeted, folding her hands in and out of her apron that she wore when cooking and cleaning in the kitchen to cover her vest to keep it clean.

Saero already used to the antics of the little ones chuckled as Harry shook his head in amusement.

“Trisky could you bring my guests and I some Butter Beer.” Harry asked gently.

Trisky nodded her head before snapping her fingers at the dirty dishes and popping out.

Saero introduced the others for Harry’s benefit. “I believe you have met Trava’in Lord of the lands hidden in the forest.”

At Harry’s nod Saero continued. “And on my other side is Koeh’avara Lord of the Lands hidden in the mountains.”

“Pleased to meet you” Harry told them as he nodded his head in a polite bow.

Trisky who had popped outside the room so as to not disturb her Sirs guests almost dropped her tray as she heard who the guests were, no wonder Sir had not eaten with the others, he was waiting for the other Lord High Ones.

Quietly and trying to be as inconspicuous as possible Trisky laid out the drinks in front of her Sirs Guests before leaving.

Saero then introduced the others to Harry using his full title. “And this is Mytimah Lord Na Arkenea’ghymn.”

Harry was startled at the indrawn breaths of Trava’in and Koeh’avara at his name and raised a questioning eyebrow.

Seeing the questioning look Trava’in told Harry. “Sorry for that, but we have all grown up with stories about the Lord of the Ancient Mages of the Forgotten. It was a slight shock to realize we are in the lands of the Forgotten.”

Saero on the receiving end of a look that promised pain if he did not explain quickly told Harry. “No prophecy or any of that rubbish. We all grew up with the legends of the times when the Race of Elf’s were the only race roaming the world.”

Saero sat back as he recounted the tale. “Long ago when we were the masters of the world there were for great kingdoms. The land in the forests, the land in the mountains, the land in the valley and finally a land that was larger than the others called simply the land of the Forgotten Mages.

Over time each of the lands prospered and our race grew more plentiful.

Then we learned of other dimensions and worlds and we started to explore these worlds and lands.

As the other races started to step out of the caves and start communities the four Lords gathered for one final time.

For the other Lords had set down roots on these other worlds and prepared to leave this one.

Over time when the gift of magic was given to the race of man the first of the three Lords returned at took up his lands once again.”

“Of course we are not talking about the original Lord who had left, but one of his descendants.” Saero informed him.

“Then years later the third Lord returned, but he was a changeling, one changed by magic and he took up the title of Lord and opened his lands to the rest of us and once again our race grew and prospered.” Saero explained.

“Each time a Lord returned he brought with him new skills and knowledge that he shared freely, but he had come back to this world to heal from great sorrow.” Saero was looking at Harry intently now.

“And now the fourth and final Lord has returned. A changeling from a world of war with skills and knowledge unheard of.” Trava’in told him.

“A Changeling that chose his name, a name that even if you did not know it, magic must have guided you to choose a name that reflected who and what you are truly.” Koeh’avara picked up the thread of explanation.

“And after looking through your library, as incredulous as it seems, it is exactly as was chronicled as belonging to the last lord of the Forgotten Mages.” Saero spoke now. “And when you invoked the magic to take you to a new home it brought you here.”

“A place where you truly belong, among people who truly cherish you for who you are not what you can be or do for them.” Trava’in told him with passion.

“The four are once again back where they belong.” Koeh’avara proclaimed triumphantly.

Blushing slightly Harry was uncomfortable and started to say so when he was interrupted.

“Nay young Lord, magic itself allowed for your change. It knew your deepest desire to find a home for yourself, to let you rest your weary soul and to heal among those that would call you one of their own.” Saero told him passionately.

“We are better because of your arrival here, whether you do anything other than rest and relax as you care for those who enter your sanctuary, we are better for it, just because you came home.” Koeh’avara said with conviction before picking up his drink and sniffing the open bottle.

Taking a sip he was very shocked. “This is good.”

Laughing at the others expression, “It’s called Butter Beer, a Wizarding drink that I am fond of.” Harry identified the beverage for them.

“As we passed the dinning room I heard Amathal quizzing her guests on why you would come back so angry and ready to prepare for war?” Saero asked. “What I want to know is how the wizards that attempted to stop you were not punished by magic for the attack.”

“Did they not know your true identity as one of the High Elf’s?” Trava’in asked troubled.

As Harry answered Saero looked at the young lord intently he should be able to notice changes in the young lord’s body by now.

“You did take the potion I gave you two days ago correct?” Saero asked as he tilted his head as he scanned the young lord.

Reddening slightly Harry had completely forgotten. “I completely forgot about it. I remember being so exhausted and set it on my dresser in a safe place and then promptly forgot about it.”

“Ah that explains it then.” Trava’in was relieved it was so simple and not the gift of magic breaking down.

Thinking back Saero wanted to slap himself he really did not explain fully what the potion would do, plus he should have made the young lord drink it right then.

“Excuse my oversight Mytimah; I really should have done a better job of explaining what the potion would do for you.” Saero apologized.

Harry tilted his head slightly and asked. “It has other features other than making the final maturity less painful?”

Nodding his head Saero explained. “Yes, the two biggest advantages are that once taken your magic will resonate with the magic of this world. For the most part you might notice a slight increase in power, but the last changeling said it was more of a decrease in the amount of power needed to use his magic, most things did not take as much power as they used to before the potion.”

“As part of the magical bonding to this world, is the protection that you would gain if any of the other races broke the rules set down in the gift of magic our race gave them. We did not want to wake up one day and find out that those we gave the gift to had turned on us, so if any would happen to attack on of our race Magic itself will rip the gift out of their body and soul leaving them without the ability to do magic.” Saero informed Harry and then made a comparison. “Much like your system of Sanctuary is watched over by magic to ensure none who come here to be healed are harmed.”

That made sense thought Harry and he gave a nod in understanding and asked. “And the other?”

“Ah yes, because you de-aged your body to fix what was wrong, the potion will use your own magic to mature your physical body so that it once again looks like a young adult instead of the youngster you appear to be now.” Saero smiled at him.

“So my appearance would grow to that of a healthy young man again. How fast?” Harry asked very interested, this would solve a lot of his problems he was finding as he traveled outside his lands.

Raising his hand Saero asked for permission to run a scan. “May I?”

Harry nodded his head and waited as Saero cast a diagnostic spell to determine his health status.

“Right now you are physically the age of around twelve years old, so the potion will affect you…” Saero trailed off as he made the mental calculations in his head.

“By winter solstice you should appear to have the body of a strong healthy eighteen year old. Then like the rest of the High Elf’s once you reach your twenty fifth birthday, your body will not show any further aging until you are near death just as we do.” Saero pronounced.

Eyes widening and then a smile crept across Harry’s face and he called out for Toby.

One the house elf had appeared with a pop he looked around and let his eyes widen slightly as he took in the other high ones but did not let his awe show to much.

“Sir Emerald Eyes has a need for Toby.” Toby said very formally with a slight bow, feeling the need to show he was a respectful elf.

“Thank you Toby, I was hoping you could do a small favor for me?” Harry paused giving the house elf a chance to nod his head.

“On top of my dresser is a small bottle, its purple in color and should be the only bottle in the basket that sits on top of my dresser. Could you bring it to me?” Harry asked.

Nodding his head Toby prepared to leave but stopped when the other High One spoke.

“Toby before you go I have something you need to return to the private library.” Saero told the little one as he pulled a red leather journal from his inner vest pocket and handed it over.

Eyes widening as he noticed the book from two days ago Toby clutched it to his chest pride showing in his posture for being the only one other than his Sir allowed to go in the private library.

Snapping his fingers he left with a softer popping noise than any of the other house elves, and was back a few seconds later.

Handing the bottle he was asked to retrieve to Harry he bowed slightly and told him. “The journal has been placed back in its shelf in your private library Sir Emerald Eyes.”

“Thank you Toby, you’re the greatest.” Harry told the house elf amused to see how his words had pleased him.

A very embarrassed house elf left the room by snapping his fingers.

Unscrewing the cap Harry sniffed it and not smelling anything lifted the bottle to his lips and downed it in go.

Setting the bottle down Harry sat back in the chair and noticed some tingling in his body that was not unpleasant just different.

The others watched as Harry started to glow slightly as his core came into the visual range and seemed like it was reaching out to gather the magic of this world to make it part of itself.

Saero who had read Harry’s journal already knew how powerful he was back in his old world so he was not surprised like the other two on how large his magical core was.

When Harry’s core became visible it extended almost a full half meter outside his body, now as his core reached out to the magic of this world to make itself part of it, it enlarged half again as large as it was before starting to glow brighter, the color now a white so intense it shimmered.

So much magic was roiling around in the room wanting to join with Harry that his body actually started to grow taller.

A few minutes later the glow started to fade as the magic that had joined with Harry began became less visible, almost as if it had been compressed as it disappeared from view.

Harry smiled as his magic settle down once again and he felt different, changed somehow. Mentally scanning his core for damage he was slightly shocked to see it had enlarged to the extent it had and wondered what Saero would consider a major increase.

Blushing when his stomach grumbled in hunger Harry had not felt hunger pangs like this in almost twenty years.

Laughing Saero called out for Harry’s head cook. “Trisky could you come here please.”

Appearing in the room Trisky looked around to see who had called her.

Alerted by the popping noise Saero turned and addressed the house elf that had appeared behind him. “Trisky, Mytimah has gone through a growth spurt just now and is in need of a large meal.”

Harry’s stomach chose that moment to let it be know it wanted food and grumbled loudly causing Harry to blush and the others to laugh.

Looking at her Sir she noticed right away he was a good bit taller than a little bit ago and nodded her head and told him before leaving. “Trisky is bringing desert for high Ones and large meal for Sir.”

Not even a full minute later a large helping of roast beef with all the fixing appeared on Harry’s desk as the map floated off to the side and a large chocolate cake with plates and a few more bottles of Butter Beer appeared on the desk closer to the other edge of the desk.

Not able to stop himself Harry grabbed up his fork and started to eat.

Taking a moment to chew the tender beef Harry motioned for the others to help themselves to the cake, intent on filling the empty hole where his stomach used to be.

After finishing half of the plate of food, which had enough food for three Harry told them. “Sorry about that, I don’t know what came over me, I had just finished supper when you stopped by so I should not have been able to eat so much so soon.”

“That’s perfectly understandable young Lord, you did suddenly grow a good twelve centimeters in a few minutes, and your body needs the fuel to recover.” Trava’in told him as he passed over a large slice of cake.

Taking the cake Harry was not sure he could eat another bite, but dug in once he had swallowed the first bite and his body felt the rush of sugar hit his tongue.

Sitting back in the chair groaning at how full he was, to the laughter of the others. “I hope that doesn’t happen to often, if it does Trisky is going to be convinced I need to eat more.” Harry whispered.

“You might have a few more growth spurts like that one, but for the most part they will not leave you wanting to eat everything in the cool room.” Saero told him while laughing.

“I am sure you can come up with a convincing story to tell your delightful Trisky, though feel free to send any leftovers my way, I will be more than happy to help you out.” Koeh’avara told him as he wondered if he could eat another slice.

“As much as I enjoy eating your food and Trisky’s wonderful cooking we came here tonight so we could take a look at one of the other arrays, so those that want to visit do not constantly end up in the healer hall. Once we get a mind picture of what can be seen from the array we can pass the visualization on to those that wish to come here and not bother the healers.” Saero informed him of the purpose of their visit.

Shuddering Trava’in leaned forward. “You don’t want to get on the bad side of the healers and need their treatment; they refuse to let you leave without putting you through so many embarrassing things.”

Chuckling Saero said. “I see Amathal has taken over and is arranging things to her liking.”

Pouting Harry told him. “I blame you for that to. First I loose control of my own kitchen and now my own hospital.”

Shaking his head Harry told them causing them to break out in laughter. “When the scholars get here I refuse to let them near my library. “

Groaning as he stood up and his clothes were way too tight and pants way too short Harry gave out a relieved sigh when he waved his hand causing his clothes to enlarge enough so he could move.

“This could be expensive on the clothing budget.” Harry muttered as he motioned the others to follow him. “Let me show you where the other array is then.”

Leading the other High Elf Lords out one of the side halls that led to the courtyard Harry led them through a side gate that came out the other side of the gardens near the waterfall.

Looking at the waterfall and the gorge it cascaded its way down the sidewall into Trava’in whispered in awe. “This place is beautiful, truly a treasure.”

“I have spent many a night healing from my wounds sitting near the edge looking over this spot, remembering those who gave their lives in the fight.” Harry said sadly lost in memories.

Shaking himself out of his memories Harry said. “But you don’t want to hear me talk about such dark times. The array is over this way.”

“Mytimah, it is not a matter of whether we wish to listen to you recount the dark times in your past. It is more to the point of, if you wish to speak of such things we will listen no matter what you need to recount.”

Letting some of the pain he was feeling at the memories he had gotten lost in Harry whispered back full of emotion. “Thank you.”

Gathering his control once more Harry stopped when they neared the array near the picnic area.

“This is perfect.” Trava’in told him as he stepped into the middle of the array and gazed around. “I should be able to pass this view along without a problem.”

Joining Trava’in in the center of the array Koeh’avara whispered as he gazed across the gorge to the caves in the opposite cliff wall “Truly a wonder, indeed.”

Letting her gaze follow the pointing antics of the young men as they walked back towards the healers hall, Amathal noticed who they young ones were pointing at.

Close enough to be heard and noticed Amathal called out as she dropped into a deep curtsey that had he almost kneeling before standing back up. “Good evening my Lords.”

Turning around towards the voice Harry noticed the group surrounding Amathal and brushing up against his pocket he felt the potion he had designed for Remus of his world and pulled it out while motioning for her to come over.

“Good evening Amathal.” Harry told her before addressing the others. “And good evening to you Potter, Black and Lupin families.”

After a chorus of returned good evening accompanied by much bowing and scraping Harry held out the silver shimmering potion. “I meant to give this to you earlier; this is the potion that will inscribe the runic symbols on young Remus’s bones.”

“Thank you my Lord, I did brush up on your notes in preparation for administering the potion and was wondering whether I would have to track you down for it.” Amathal smiled letting him know she meant it in jest.

“Well seeing how you have taken over my own healing hall I might as well hand this over gracefully.” Harry smirked.

Back to the others knowing they could not see Amathal curtseyed again and made a face as if she was blowing a raspberry at him and replied. “I live to serve my Lord.”

Breaking out in laughter Harry told her. “Off with you, much more of this you will need a bed in your own hall.”

Shaking his head in laughter Harry turned back to his guests and let Amathal gather hers and move off.

Leaving the lords behind Amathal steered her guests back towards the healing hall.

“Not to sound ill mannered, but who were those others with the Lord of these lands?” Harold asked, before asking another question right on top of the first. “And what in Merlin’s name is the name of your Lord if you don’t mind? Calling him hey you would seem very ill advised.”

Laughing as she entered the doorway to the barn section of the healing hall Amathal told them. “Those four are the four Lords of the realm, the rulers of the four kingdoms.”

Passing through the shimmering curtain designed to keep insects out of the rest of the healer’s hall Amathal added. “As far as what name can be used to address my Lord, you may use his title, Lord Na Arkenea’ghymn.”

Pointing towards the bed Amathal ordered. “Remove your top Remus and lay down on your stomach.”

After several tries to pronounce the name Harold finally interrupted after seeing the others had no success either. “Unfortunately we can not pronounce the name without butchering it to the point we might offer insult, at least without more practice.”

Chuckling softly as she prepared to administer the potion Amathal told them. “The house elves also do not seem to be able to pronounce our names either, so at his request they call him Sir Emerald Eyes, which is a partial translation of his name.”

Turning her attention back to Remus she started to explain what she was about to do so he would not panic. “I want you to relax as much as possible I will explain step by step what I’m doing so you know what is going on.”

Hearing his mumbled reply Amathal started. “Alright, the first thing I am going to do is to levitate you so that your head hangs down exposing the back of your neck.”

After Remus was floating a half meter above the bed Amathal told him as she placed her hand on the back of his neck with a antiseptic cloth. “Right now I’m numbing you neck while cleaning it, I need to make a small cut along your neck to be bale to pour the potion into it.”

Sliding her nail across the back of his neck opening an incision where her finger moved she sent a burst of magic down her finger keeping the wound from bleeding.

“Alright the hard part is done, now I am going to pour the potion in to the incision slowly before healing the cut. After that you will feel a burst of heat that will not get to uncomfortable, more like the discomfort caused by a mild sunburn as my magic activates the potion and it inscribes the runes on your vertebrae.” Amathal told him as she started to pour the potion into the incision.

Not really feeling anything but a gentle heat and numbness from his neck he did not realize that it was almost done.

Closing the incision and placing her glowing hand over the spot, Amathal started to push her magic into the area as she picked up the chant that was written in the journal.

Remus felt warm which quickly changed to a mild burning as the chant picked up. He was staring to get uncomfortable as his skin tingled and seemed to move as he found himself back on the bed curled up.

With a loud gasp Remus transformed into a large wolf that was larger than the large gray wolf of old.

Growling menacingly hackles rising in agitation at the sounds of terror that was coming from behind the glowing two legs, Remus snapped his jaws at them when he felt a sudden pain from his nose.

THWAP

Holding the rolled newspaper up in case she needed to whack him again Amathal yelled at the boy sternly. “REMUS LUPIN…SIT DOWN NOW.”

Remus in shock whined as he promptly laid down and covered his nose with a paw to protect it.

“A little quiet would be helpful. “Amathal practically sneered at the group behind her.
Setting the newspaper down on the edge of the bed she heard the snickers coming from behind her.

“Did you see that she hit him on the nose like she was scolding a puppy for having an accident inside on the rug.” James got out before breaking down in laughter holding on to the laughing Sirius to keep from falling down.

“Once the runes are inscribed it forces a true change for the first time, and sometimes it takes a little motivation for the brain to over rule instinct.” Amathal held back her own laughter as she told them that.

“He doesn’t look like a werewolf.” Orion said as he approached the bed.

“Remus do you understand me?” Orion asked as he thought of the possibilities.

Lifting his head up Remus nodded his head before glancing over and glaring at the paper at the foot of the bed.

Sitting up slowly carefully keeping an eye on the healer in case she had another newspaper somewhere Remus sat up and looked his new body over.

Tail wagging hard enough to drag the sheets to the floor Amathal laughed with the happy mood that was rolling off Remus.

Giving him a moment to be petted by his parents and friends and listening to the others exclaim at the difference between Remus and a werewolf Amathal broke it up wanting to bring Remus back to his normal form.

“Ok listen up Remus, juts like the Animagus transformation you need to remember and concentrate on feeling your body as it was when you are in human form.” Amathal instructed him.

Seeing he was not really listening to her as he was to intent on playing in this new form Amathal stepped forward and caught his muzzle with her hand and pulled his face around to look in his eyes.

“Play time is over Remus, now it is time to return to human form. Concentrate on the felling of moving your fingers as you pick up something you dropped on the floor visualize what you look like and push yourself into it.” Amathal slowly and calmly instructed him.

Letting go as the muzzle started to retract as Remus turned back into his normal form she smiled as he yelled out in glee.

“Did you see it…Did you see I am a normal wolf.” Remus yelled out in glee as he bounced off the bed and started to bounce around the room with his friends.

Laughing at the young man Amathal conjured a robe and caught his attention by saying. “Yes you did very well, but I don’t think you should be flashing the room with your bits.”

Mortified with embarrassment Remus pulled James and Sirius around in front of him to block him from view, as he turned so red she could swear she could feel the heat from his embarrassment all the way over here.

Laughing Amathal threw the robe to Remus and sat down on the bed and held her side laughing.

Catching her breath she stood up. “Remus I want you to spend one more night here in the healer’s hall and then we will find a room for you to move into while staying here to learn how to use magic properly.”

“After everything I have heard would it be possible to include another in your lessons.” Orion Black asked carefully.

Looking at the pleading expression on his sons face Harold spoke up. “I think you will find that all three boys really want to do this, though if truth be told I think we would all benefit from learning to connect with our magic properly.” Harold said as he watched the three boy’s heads bowed together more than likely planning something.

Having said good bye to the other Lords Harry was in a good mood as he walked back towards the healing hall.

Harry snorted in amusement, it was not enough that he was kicked out of his own hospital but they had to go and change its name too.

Walking in through the side door Harry saw Misty stocking the shelves with bandages and supplies while Itsy was healing an owl, which reminded him that Hedwig still had not returned from seeking a mate.

He had noticed yesterday that not only had Hedwig healed from their jaunt back in time she had become younger to and gave all the signs of being broody. So after lunch he took her outside and told her to go find a nice owl as her mate, maybe then she would leave him in peace.

With a squawk of indignation and a gentle nip of his ear Hedwig launched herself and he remembered she seemed to be glowing with the need to mate.

Harry walked into the healing hall just as Amathal said. “I do not see any reason that at your age you can not learn to connect with your magic, but I would need to find acceptable masters and get my Lords permission first.”

“Get my permission for what?” Harry asked as he passed through the shimmering field.

Turning towards the voice Harold noticed that the lad that was lord of this land had walked in and he looked older somehow.

“Lord Emerald Eyes we wish for your permission for our sons to join Remus as he learns to control his magic and if you would consider it we would be grateful for the chance to learn also.” Orion asked him formally.

Harry stared at them intently as he gauged their sincerity. Seeing that they were starting to fidget slightly under his stare he said. “If the boys truly wish to learn and will put forth the effort needed without complaint then I have no problem with them joining the classes, though it might be several days before the scholars are settled in and ready to begin teaching novices.”

Smiling as both James and Sirius who had been watching the conversation closely started to jump around shouting in joy Harry asked. “The rest of you wish to learn also, why?”

“Besides the joy of being able to do magic without a wand, to protect ourselves and our family.” Orion was quick to answer.

Not wanting to flinch under the intense stare from those green eyes Orion placed a hand on his wives arm in comfort before saying. “Several years ago that upstart calling himself a dark lord had one of his men torture my youngest son to death when I hesitated to accept his so gracious offer to join him.” Orion spat out with venom.

Harry faced Mr. Potter and stared at him until the man answered him.

Swallowing nervously Harold started his explanation. “Several days ago you asked my opinion and I told you I needed to think about it, do some research. Our government has become corrupt and our leaders of the light tarnished.”

“The system is broken and I really do not know what to say that would point to a way to fix it. After watching the way the headmaster has acted around you I have to agree that he is stalking you, attempting to control you. I am not sure for what purpose but it bothers me.” Harold told him.

“It bothers me to the point I am pulling James out of Hogwarts and am grateful that you are going to allow the boys to continue their studies here.” Harold’s voice was now almost a whisper.

Stepping forward Harry told him. “You do realize the headmaster is not going to allow you to remove James as a student, don’t you?”

Realizing for the first time that back in his own world the reason his grandparents might have been targeted was for this very thing Harry told him. “Once you formally pull James out of Hogwarts, the headmaster and the ministry loose all control over Hogwarts and the grounds, making yourself a target for both of them. You know that right?”

Nodding his head sadly Harold finally said. “How can I in good conscious allow my son to spend his formative years away from me with a man that not only have I lost respect for but fear who he would sacrifice in this insane dream of the greater good he has adopted the past year or so.”

Staring at Harry pleading Harold said. “I need to learn this so I can save my family from the danger we face.”

Harry glanced out of the corner of his eye towards James who was looking at his father in shock and then he looked fearful as he started to realize and take in what his father had just said.

Leaving his friends behind, he walked over to his father and stepped between him and his mother wanting comfort as he realized that the monster was real and had a name and would be coming for his father.

Harry nodded his head wishing that someone had stood with his grandfather back in his world, if this is what happened he now knew why he was always kept in the dark about his family.

“So be it.” Harry said as he pointed to the floor.

Once the man had kneeled on the floor Harry stepped forward and said. “Harold potter last scion of the Potter line you kneel before me of your own free will.”

Gods above Harry thought here he was breaking the vow he made earlier just so he could protect those that would be his family in this world if things had turned out differently

“You seek to become a subject and citizen of my lands and as such would become a subject of the fourth kingdom.” Magic started to gather at his words.

“Do you vow to protect those in need, to protect those who can not protect themselves and bind your line to those of the fourth kingdom from now until the end of time?” Harry asked his voice echoing through the room with power.

Orion black who had watched what was going on and seeing where it was going quickly knelt next to his colleague as the magic started to build.

Both men spoke a vow from deep in their hearts, the need to protect their families foremost in their mind. “I vow to bind my line to your kingdom from now until the end of time, protecting those in need.”

Magic was almost overpowering in the room as it had built to such a level waiting for something to happen.

“As you vow to protect those in need, so do I vow to protect you and yours in your need. SO MOTE IT BE.” Harry’s voiced boomed as the magic impaled both men leaving them panting on the floor.

Amathal was quick to jump down to check on the two exhausted men as they swayed on the floor.

Harry stared at the two thinking that was a surprising turn of events, noticing that James and Sirius were wobbling slightly as well as their mothers Harry walked over to the potion cupboard and pulled four vials of energy stabilizer out of the rack and passed one to each of the boys and then to each of their mothers.

“Drink up it will help.” Harry urged them.

Amathal having put the two to bed ran her hand over their chests and smiled as she told the group. ‘They’ll be fine in another hour or so, they just exhausted their core when the magic accepted their vows. They will be up and around full of energy tomorrow morning.”

“I extend the hospitality of my home to you for the night, and will send Tinky up to Hogwarts to collect the boy’s belongings. After this startling revelation I think it would be best if Remus joined the other two trouble makers in guest quarters, to give your husbands time to recuperate without young whispers keeping them up all night.” Harry smiled at them.

Summoning a leather choker covered in runes Harry handed it to Remus. “Put this on, it will keep you from accidentally transforming while asleep.”

Sirius chuckled as Remus snapped the collar on, snickering that it looked like a dog collar.

Chuckling Harry escorted the group out of the healer’s hall and towards the guest quarters set up in the house tree out behind the barn.

Placing his hand on the tree trunk while pointing out the knot, Harry surprised them all when the trunk opened into a doorway.

“Each level has a dwelling with three bedrooms and such, and you will have to tap the knot with your wand until you learn to control your magic to open the doors. Feel free to make yourselves at home as no one is currently staying in this tree.” Harry told them.

“If you need help finding the dining room in the morning just call for Tinky and ask for his help. Sleep well.” Harry told them as he left them to go back to his office to think about what had happened.

well yes and no, LOL but I will say you do find out in chapter 12.

Declare war on Dumbledore, no that would be left to others, he only agrees to it in the end. And I will freely admit the end scene left me emotional and lets just say that this Albus is very disturbed.

His mind was so horrified from the war with Grindlewald that he came up with a dream of the perfect utopia, and spends all his time gathering power and political maneuverings so that he can create his utopia. The longer he works on changing the world for the greater good the deeper into the pit of darkness he descends, after all the greater good sometimes requires what one to do what normally would be unthinkable, and after time the unthinkable becomes smaller and what once you would never consider becomes common place.

Plus the one great flaw in his plans, he has not shared his dream of the greater future, his utopia, if he had he would have found almost all would turn on him, not agreeing with his ideals or with the fact he was taking away their free will.

You see it in the books so much, think about how wizarding society is trapped in the past, and ask yourself what if the one most looked to for answers secretly played with events so that over time most would be complacent and mold able.

Joey

Journey to a New Start chapter 8

Chapter 8

Glathrock had been called to the lobby because of a disturbance. Somehow several bound wizards accompanied by one that was not, had port keyed directly through the wards into the lobby.

This had serious connotations for their security if wizards had found a hole in their wards and could exploit it.

Entering the lobby he walked across the floor to the side alcove where the wizards were being held for questioning.

Entering the alcove the first thing he noticed was how agitated his guards were. Listening to the questioning being done to young wizard he paled hearing the answer.

“Dozens of these pointy eared people were the ones to bring Marcus and the others over to me. But it was the young looking one that sent us here.” Thomas answered the Goblins questions. “Told me that next time I accepted a job to make sure I check them out properly.”

Inspecting the three bound wizards Glathrock noticed the word Oath Breaker burned on the forehead of the one and a note pinned to the front of his robe with his name on it.

Reaching gingerly out and plucking the note Glathrock unfolded and read the contents.

Hands shaking at the implications of the wizards arriving the way they did, sent by a simple port key programmed by one of the High Ones, and it could so easily breach their wards without warning.

The second fact that unsettled him was the fact that the High One knew so much about their business practices, as revealed in the note telling him to activate the penalty clauses in the sales contract, which in a sense would make the drooling broken man in front of him destitute.

“Release that one and call the Aurors for those three.” Glathrock commanded as he clutched the paper in his hand and left the room.

Walking quickly to one of the teller stations he wrote an order to empty the vault of the Oath Breaker and placed it in the out basket so it would be acted on before the ministry brought them an order to freeze the vault.

Knowing the other Horde Leaders would have already assembled in the chamber Glathrock made his way down the tunnel towards his office intent on the tunnel that opened up behind his desk to the meeting chamber.

Walking around his desk and touching the diamond inlay in the wall the tunnel spiraled open and Glathrock walked the short distance to the chamber itself.

Stopping when he reached the center of the chamber he looked around at the other Horde Leaders along the circular wall and said. “You have all been informed of what transpired this morning.”

“Beyond the fact that the High Ones can cross our wards like they do not exist, is the fact that they can do so with a port key that can take any number of people with it even if they are NOT touching each other.” Glathrock told them.

“Not to mention that this meeting is more than likely being watched as I know for a fact that the High One this morning did not look at the contracts and Oaths we had submitted for his review. But he knew of the penalty clauses we add to all contracts that are printed so small one needs to magnify them to read them.” Glathrock told them.

The Goblins along the walls fidgeted as Glathrock asked before stepping out of the center and taking his place along the wall. “The question remains of what we do?”

No one stepped forward for the longest time as a collective the Horde Leaders had no clue of what they could do.

Finally one did speak out. “There is nothing we can do, other than to do nothing at all to make the High Ones look closer at us, our very existence as a race hinges on this simple fact we must not insult them in any way.”

“Look what has happened with the slave seller in the ally and what the High One is doing to him for an insult to one he calls an employee.” One of the other Goblins said.

“Or what the High One did to the wizard that forswore his oath. That wizard has no mind or magic.” Another one said in fear.

A rhythmic tapping stopped anyone else from feeding the fears as an extremely elderly Goblin walked into the center of the chamber dressed in blood red leathers and carrying a book in one hand while walking with a cane. “You are all making the same mistake the other races are about to.”

“You are talking about the young High One and discussing him as if he was the only one walking among us once again. You have forgotten the wizard’s words.” The old Goblin rasped out. “Dozens of pointy eared taller ones.”

“Dozens.” He once again rasped out followed by a deep racking cough of age.

Turning to face one of the Horde Leaders the elderly Goblin said. “You are right we will do nothing to antagonize the High One.”

Facing one of the others that spoke out he told them. “You are also right that the race must be protected at all costs.”

Turning to face Glathrock he coughed once more before saying. “And you are tasked with doing everything in your power to see that the Goblin Race is no threat to the High Ones and do everything in your power to be helpful.”

Bowing to the priest as he started to walk back into the darkness the Horde Leaders looked to each other and started to disperse. The message was clear their survival lay not in war or discord but in cooperation and peace when it came to the High Ones.

XX

Harold Potter had sleepless nights before, but ever since meeting the young lad who turned out to be a High One his nights seemed endless as he reexamined his beliefs and his allegiance to those he held in high regard as being of the light.

Two days ago a being of legend asked his opinion, an opinion at one time he would have been quick to give, an opinion he would have been wrong to give it seemed.

Sighing as he walked down the ally as he scanned the crowds going about their business, perhaps Miriam was right Harold thought, but if she was then when did it all start to go wrong.

That was running through his mind as he walked up the steps of Gringotts intent on a ride down to his ancestral vault and the old history books housed in the back section. He and his wife planned to make a detailed accounting of how the histories had been manipulated over the years before they could even begin to give an informed opinion the High One asked for, as it stood now if pressed they would have to advise against working with any witch or wizard connected to Hogwarts or the Ministry.

Waiting in line for an available teller Harold fingered his vault key as he thought of the future and his possible answer.

Hearing the call of “Next.” Broke Harold out of his thought as he walked up to the open teller and handed his key over and to the Goblin. “I would like to go to my ancestral vault please.”

Looking at the magic embedded in the key Watchblock ran his finger down the ledger in front of him only to stop on the name the key led him to, Potter, current head Harold.

Glancing up to see that the man in front of him was indeed Harold Potter Watchblock cleared his throat. “Mr. Potter I have a message to pass along that Glathrock, one of our senior managers would like a moment of your time.”

Sighing, Harold thought great just what I need now before asking. “Do you know why?”

There was no way he was about to have this conversation, let alone here in the lobby so Watchblock just told him. “I believe it is should not take to much of your time, may I suggest that you go to your vault to do what is needed and I have Glathrock meet you there?”

Watchblock turned “Griphook do escort Mr. Potter down to his vault.”

Griphook motioned with his finger. “Follow me.” And started towards the tunnel leading to the tracks that held the mine carts.

Harold’s mind was spinning with thoughts as he tried to figure out why the Goblins would want to talk to him, not only that they were making an effort to accommodate him as well, it was unheard of.

Harold did not even notice the long ride down to his ancestral vault so caught up in his musings as he was. It was only after Griphook jumped out of the cart and called his name twice that he noticed where he was.

Placing his hand on the vault door he allowed it to sample some of his blood and stepped back as it slowly opened.

Walking inside he made his way back to the far side of the vault towards an alcove that houses shelves full of journals. These were the Potter family histories, what he had come looking for and hopefully what would give him the needed knowledge to answer some of his questions.

Deciding to only go back four hundred years in his search Harold started to cast the charm that would make temporary copies of the journals, they would last a couple of weeks before they would fade away, more than enough time for what they needed to do. This little bit of family magic that ensured that the original journals were never lost or destroyed.

Finishing up Harold turned to leave and as he walked past the bins full of Galleons he stopped and filled up his money pouch while he was here, no sense of going up to his vault when there was plenty of gold right here.

Noticing several Goblins standing on the platform outside the vault Harold walked over to the threshold without crossing it to see what they wanted.

Glathrock approved of the wizards caution. He had made it look so natural that he had just stopped on the other side of the barrier safeguarding his vault and naturally his own self at the same time. “Greeting Mr. Potter.”

Eyeing the Goblin warily Harold answered in kind. “Greeting to you also, was there something you needed to see me about that could not have been done by owl?”

Glathrock looked at the wizard shrewdly, indeed this is one to watch out for, the control he has over his facial features leave him almost unreadable. “Mr. Potter I shall get straight to the point. The High One has told us that any correspondence that needs to reach him in a timely matter can be done so through you.”

Holding up a sealed scroll Glathrock told him. “We have a need to do so now. We have a need of the High One to clarify his orders on the purchases he had us make and have also included a list of transactions needing his approval.”

Sneering in disbelief Glathrock told him. “The muggle one is the most pressing as this so called software company, whatever that is, he has invested heavily in, has sent a request for him to sit in on the board of directors meeting in a weeks time.”

Holding back his shock Harold’s mind raced back to two days ago when he held the conversation with the lad just inside the forbidden forest and how he had been told he could meet with him by saying…His thoughts trailed off as he realized he had been given the means to enter one of the High Ones lands, a feat many had tried for over the thousands of years, attempting to prove or disprove the existence of the High Ones still.

Nodding his head slowly Harold said. “Yes I have the honor of knowing how to enter the Lands of the High Ones and I can deliver your message.”

Quickly adding to his statement. “The knowledge that I can enter the High Ones lands is not to get out, I fear what the repercussions could be if the ministry or others found out.” Harold told him as he stared at the two other Goblins on the platform.

Glathrock looked over his shoulder then assured the wizard of their confidentiality. “Griphook has had the most dealings with the High One and will not divulge your words, and as far as Watchblock is concerned he also will hold your secret as he is involved in the day to day handling of the High Ones account here at the bank.”

Nodding his head so as not to show his shock at the fact a High One would open an account at Gringotts, Harold had to wonder just what was going on and wondered how he could word his questions so they did not seem impertinent when he saw the High One once again.

Stepping out of the vault with the small chest in tow behind him Harold moved away from the doors so they could close. “How time sensitive is the message you wish me to pass on?”

Glathrock handed over the scroll and told him with relief. “If you can get this to the High One today, he should have enough time to pick out a representative to send to the board of directors meeting.”

Taking the scroll Harold nodded his head and told him. “I shall get this to him before dark.”

Nodding his head Glathrock and Watchblock moved to the second cart they had arrived in and left to go back to wherever they had come from while Harold and Griphook entered their own cart and headed back to the surface.

XXX

Being very surprised after finding out from the Centaur watching near the gate that no one had come into the forest looking for a missing student Harry thanked the Centaur for his news and started walking towards the area that once he exited the woods would find him on the Quidditch pitch

Harry was torn as he looked up at Hogwarts from the edge of the Quidditch pitch as he came out of the forest.

Not really sure if he wanted to do this, or even to give this version of Albus a chance Harry straightened up and walked forward, after all he was not coming here for himself he needed to contact Remus’s parents after all.

Walking across the pitch and past the changing rooms Harry’s head swiveled side to side as he took in everything he was seeing and he compared it to what he remembered from his time at Hogwarts in his old world.

Moving pat the greenhouses and hearing young voices come from inside Harry noticed that classes were in session and hoped it would make his errand that much easier, not having to see his father or godfather, this worlds versions at least.

Standing in front of the doors Harry really did not want to be here and double checked his belt compartments including the one that held his war crystals.

Bolstering his mental defenses Harry strode through the open doors chiding himself for wasting time on feelings and daydreams from another world, he stepped aside as the students started rushing past him in their haste to get to their next class, as he missed the bell sounding the end of period in his musings.

Great Harry thought, the students were not rushing around to go to the next class but to head off to lunch.

Standing out from the crowd because of the way he was dressed, Harry moved off to one side as the students rushed past him on their way to the most important thing on their minds right now, food.

Sirius and James coming back from yet another trip to the hospital wing to check to see if Remus had shown up were the first to notice the strangely dressed person in their midst.

Sneaking closer for a better look by using the shadows they stared in awe as the looked onto the face from several days ago, the face of the High One.

XXX

Harold Potter had left the journals with his wife after giving her a brief explanation of what had happened while at Gringotts and holding the scroll up he was supposed to deliver so she could see it, he left the manor and apparated to the edge of Hogsmeade.

Walking passed the shrieking shack and into the forest Harold felt that someone was watching him, scanning the surrounding area he saw no one, but the feeling remained.

Stopping outside the stone circle Harold read the inscription written along the side of the pillar before hesitating a step or two and finally entering inside the circle.

Seeing more words along the inner top ring of stones that capped the pillars, Harold read them before smiling, so simple yet most would over think the words trying to find deeper meaning he thought.

“Sanctuary.” Harold said out loud with a smile, disappearing from sight.

Appearing in a strange location Harold looked around and noticed he was in what looked like a barn.

Itsy seeing a wizard appear at the array walked over and asked him. ”Is you bleeding? Or hurt in any way?”

Startled Harold looked down to where the voice was coming from and was surprised to see the person addressing him was a house elf dressed in a white vest with a crest he had never seen before on the left breast.

“No, at least not the last time I checked.” Harold answered the strangely attired house elf.

“Then you must be here for the Remus Lupin, he is this way.” Itsy made the assumption for why the wizard was here.

Shaking his head in shock Harold stammered out, “Remus is here?”

Following the retreating back of the house elf Harold passed through a shimmering in the air he walking into a bright and cheery hospital wing.

Remus looked up from the book he was reading to see James dad walk in. Surprised he called out in greeting. “My. Potter…what are you doing here?”

“Remus, what happened? Why are you here? And in the hospital even, were you badly hurt?” Harold asked in concern remembering how often Remus and Sirius spent the night at the manor.

“He was close to death actually.” Amathal told him as she entered the room to check on her young patient. “Between the poisoning and crossbow bolt he is lucky to have survived.”

Remus cringed in fear away from the man standing near the edge of his bed now that his secret was out, fearing like all those others he would be shunned and forbidden from seeing his first true friends.

Taking in the fearful cringe on the sometimes to timid lad and the book with a picture of a wolf howling a the moon on the cover he was reading, and adding in that last night was a full moon and that silver tipped bolts from crossbows was the favored hunting device of werewolf hunters Harold had a pretty good idea why Remus was here now.

“Remus…here now lad there is no reason to be frightened by me.” Harold tried to reassure him.

Turning to see who the woman was that had entered and spoke was Harold was shocked to see an elegant High One and quickly fell to his knees and bowed his head in respect.

Remus was so gripped with fear he failed to notice who walked in, his mind providing ever increasing horrors and rejections now that his secret was out.

Seeing that her patient was working himself into a state of hysteria Amathal went over to calm him down.

Rubbing Remus’s back in soothing circles while channeling her magic into her hand and softly singing to him Remus soon calmed down.

Settling Remus back in bed as she tucked the sleepy teen in as she used her magic to make sure he went to sleep and turned to the kneeling man next to the bed.

“Mr. Potter, I think my Lord said it best. A bow of respect starts when one is standing and bends at the waist and pauses when bent and then ends when the person is back upright once again. A bow of fear on the other hand is one that is complete when the person ends and holds the bow at the halfway point.” Amathal told him as she placed a bookmark in the book Remus was reading and set it on the nightstand.

Standing before the kneeling man Amathal and questioned him amused. “One has to wonder then which you are doing now?”

Slowly looking up Harold decided that she was telling him that what he was doing was not the way she wanted him to show respect to her. Standing up slowly he winced slightly as his knees gave a small protest from kneeling on the hard floor.

‘This might sound strange but I have a message from the Goblins to deliver to the High One I met in Hogsmeade two days ago. The thing is I never did get his name so can only give you a description, and the Goblins did say this message was time sensitive.” Harold rambled. “I really never expected to meet other High Ones when I followed his directions on how to get here.”

Her laugh sounded like wind chimes on a breezy day as Amathal told him. “There is no need to give a description as there is only one of us at the moment that interacts with your world and that would be the lord of these lands.

Harold was a little shocked at hearing the young lad was the lord of these people and stammered out. “Can you point me in his direction, so I can deliver this message.”

Looking the man over she thought for a moment and then saw no harm in giving him the information. “He is not here at the moment, in fact he is going to that Hogwarts place in an attempt to contact Remus’s parents. You may wait for him to return of course.”

“He really did not want to go to that place and from what I have overheard from his explanations with Lord Saero of the Hidden Valley I don’t blame him.” Amathal told him as she moved around the room rearranging things more to her liking.

Harold Potter winced when he heard the High One had gone up to the castle, this was not good, as Albus had been after him to divulge every last bit of information he could remember about his mystery lad. He had even felt the brush of a legilimency probe against his mind once or twice.

‘Would it help If I Floo’d the Lupin’s and brought them here, Remus after all is best friends with my son, well he and another lad that is.” Harold shook his head, he was still rambling. “I do know where he lives as Remus travels back and forth to our house quite often during the summer break.”

Looking back at the man Amathal sounded out the word as she questioned what it meant. “Floo?”

Looking along the walls for a fireplace Harold told her. “Floo, is the main way witches and wizards communicate over long distances, we throw Floo powder into a fireplace that is connected to the floo network and call out our destination and it connects the two fireplaces, we then can talk back and forth, even pass things along or travel through the fire.”

“Interesting. Unfortunately we do not use anything like that, and do not have fireplaces in our healing halls.” Amathal told him.

Well the easy way is out Harold thought. Holding the scroll out he asked. “Could you hold onto this and show me how to go back the way I came? I can run into Hogsmeade and contact the Lupin’s and bring them back after they Floo in.”

“And what do you wish me to do with this?” Amathal pointed at the offered scroll.

“If you can hold on to it to give to the Lord High One or until I get back. I don’t want to take the chance of loosing or damaging it.” Harold told her hopeful.

Nodding her head in acceptance at his logic Amathal lead him back towards the array.

“This way, I will send you back and I do believe you know how to return.” She told him with a raised eyebrow.

Nodding his head Harold walked into the circle of stones and thanked her. “Thank you I shall do my best to get the Lupin’s back here as quickly as I can. Um…Out of curiosity the Lord High One does have a way to make a quick exit from Hogwarts if needed correct?”

Looking at the man strangely Amathal replied with conviction. “Do not worry yourself so, there is nothing that would dare harm one of us, even your headmaster would not be so foolish.”

Harold was not sure anymore when it came to Albus, and knowing what he would do in any given situation, but nodded his head anyway hoping she was correct.

XXX

Minerva was in a foul mood as she walked towards the great hall for lunch, her fourth year transfiguration class was a student short, and it was one of her lions, and to make matters worse no one had seen him since dinner last night and the other two thirds of the terrible trio were unusually subdued during class.

Spotting a student standing near the front doors she scowled as she noticed he was out of uniform. She would see about that she thought as she made her way over to the student.

“What’s this then, ten points for being out of uniform from…Just what house do you belong to?” Minerva scolded him.

Harry’s flashed over in anger briefly before replying stiffly. “I am not one of your students and do not belong to any of your so called houses. I am here to deliver a message nothing further.”

Minerva straightened up ready to really give the boy in front of her a real lashing and then she heard Albus speak up from behind her.

“Ah Minerva, shall we sit down for lunch, I have heard the house elves have prepared your favorite….” Albus trailed off as he noticed the boy from Diagon Ally the other day.

Eyes twinkling in merriment Albus told him. “Ah, my boy I see you have decided to take me up on my offer to come visit Hogwarts and sit in some of our classes.”

Harry had enough, whatever pleasure he had once gained from sparring with the man in the beginning had long since died.

“Albus Dumbledore are we related?” Harry asked allowing some of his anger to come through.

Falling into the guise of a grandfatherly persona Albus replied. “It would be hard to tell as I do not know your name. Though you have to admit we are all related in some way, hmmm”

Harry truly looked angry and spat out. “I know for a fact we are not related in anyway. And I find your continued use of calling me ‘my boy’ to be highly insulting to me and my family.”

“I have come here only to deliver a message and want no part of your school, or world and only wish to be left alone.” Harry saw that Minerva was bristling at his words.

Rounding on her he told her softly and carefully. “Do not say what you are about to, you do not know what this insufferable old man has done in our meetings, in fact everything he has done so far would be considered stalking, and if he does not cease immediately I will press charges.”

Minerva’s stood there in shock and looked sideways to see how Albus was taking the boys words and noticed the slight tick around his eyes. Having known him for so long she realized that the boy was right.

Facing the headmaster once again Harry said. “Now I have come for one reason only, to pass along this message, one of your students is being treated at our hospital for injures sustained some time this morning. As his life is no longer in danger we need you to contact his parents so that further treatment can be authorized.”

Smiling once more Albus tried to placate the boy in front of him, while thinking this might be a good way to find out more about the boy and where he lived. “That’s alright, as headmaster of this school I can give the permission needed, so if you will take me to your medi-witch we can get this taken care of easily.”

Harry stared at the old wizard not believing what he was hearing. “Seeing as your name is Dumbledore and not Lupin I really don’t see how you can give permission for treatment.”

James and Sirius almost gave themselves away when they heard it was Remus that had been hurt.

“Remus.” Minerva gasped as she looked at the headmaster.

“Now my boy there really is no need to work yourself up, just let me get my things and we can be off.” Albus smiled his best grandfatherly smile down at the boy.

Albus started to move away but was stopped by the boy’s next words.

“Is he your apprentice?” Harry asked through gritted teeth as he counted backwards from one hundred so he would not hex the man as he so wanted to do right now.

Turning back around replacing the confused expression on his face with a gentle smile, as he had no idea what that question the boy asked meant. “No, as headmaster of this school I do not have time to take on apprentices, though maybe if you were interested we could work something out.”

Sighing more in frustration than anger at this point Harry asked. “Please show me your masters mark before we go any further.”

Confusion really showing now Albus looked at Minerva and seeing her confused look replied slowly. “Masters Mark, I am afraid I do not know what you are talking about. Master is a title graced upon a person when the reach a certain level of learning and have passed the appropriate tests showing they have a firm master’s level grasp on the subject.”

Shaking his head Harry had to wonder once again the difference between his world and this one, in his world very few had a masters mark even the ones called masters, though everyone knew what it meant to carry one.

“Then by our laws you can not give permission for treatment as you are not the boys master, and not his parent, so do not waste any more time and please make the call informing Remus Lupin’s parents they are needed.” Harry told him exasperated with the mans attitude.

“Now see here I don’t know what gives you the right to come in here and decide…” Minerva started before Harry interrupted her.

“Madam and I use that loosely, I have every right as the student in question is not on school grounds and our ways must be followed not yours. I have been more than patient with you and your accusations in the beginning so kindly butt out of matters that do not concern you.” Harry told her firmly before looking back at the headmaster.

Minerva could not believe what she was hearing, how dare this boy come in here and tell her off in this fashion.

“Are you going to cooperate and make the call or should I return and inform the healers that no further treatment is to be given.” Harry asked coldly.

“Surely we can come to an understanding about treatment without involving Remus’s parents, perhaps it would be best if I came along and collected him and brought him back to the infirmary here for treatment.” Albus smiled once more as he was thinking how stubborn this boy was being.

James and Sirius hearing the conversation so far carefully melted further back into the shadows, intent on making a break for Hogsmeade and the nearest floo.

Shaking his head and turning away to walk out Harry told them. “That will not be possible.”

“Is he that seriously injured then?” Minerva asked showing her concern.

Stopping and looking over his shoulder as he made it to the doors Harry looked at her sadly. “That should have been your very first question you asked. It saddens me to think that your games are more important than the well being of one of the children under your supervision.”

Back facing them as he stood on the top step Harry told them shaking his head sadly. “It saddens me to know that even with a student missing there were no search parties out. It makes one wonder if you even knew he was missing in the first place.”

Minerva felt thoroughly chastised by the young man walking down the path, he was right in a way there were no search parties out looking for Remus, in fact she knew he was not usually the type to skip class even though he was sickly.

“Albus we had best floo the Lupin’s and let them know that Remus was hurt and bring them here as soon as we can.” Minerva told her boss.

“No need Minerva I will floo the Aurors and we will stop this nonsense once and for all, we will inform Remus’s parents after he is back safe here at Hogwarts once again.” Albus told her as he strode away quickly for his office.

“Why do I feel you are making a big mistake Albus, one that will cost us to much with your obsession with knowing everything about that boy.” Minerva said to the empty hall.

Sneaking out of Honeydukes James and Sirius started to run towards the Three Broomsticks intent on reaching the Floo there.

About to reach for the door James slammed to a stop when the door started to open on its own.

To his shock then intense relief his dad was the one stepping out of the door.

Harold was assaulted by verbal cries of relief and for help by his son and best friend. Eyes narrowing he held up a hand to stop the verbal onslaught and sternly told them. “James, Sirius there had better be a very good reason you are not in school right now, no matter that your end of year exams are over, you still have to stay up at the castle.”

Seeing his best friend’s mouth moving but no words coming our Sirius started. “Mr. Potter that person we all met the other day, you remember the one? Well he showed up at Hogwarts looking to pass on a message and retrieve Remus’s parents for permission to be given for further treatment of Remus’s injuries.”

“He refused dad.” James broke in. “He was more concerned with interrogating the person than Remus’s injuries, or trying to weasel his way back to where he comes from.”

“Who are you talking about? Who refused?” Harold asked confused by his sons disjointed explanation.

“The Headmaster, MR. Potter. The Headmaster was not interested in hearing about Remus or getting in touch with his parents.” Sirius told him.

“Please dad, we need to floo the Lupin’s and bring them here so we can take them to Remus, they need their permission to fix Remus up again.” James pleaded

Moving aside so they could see who was behind him Harold heard James and Sirius let out a sigh of relief when they saw Mr. and Mrs. Lupin

Harold was slightly worried over Albus’s behavior, it worried him more so than being on the board of governors, making a decision he looked at the two boys and told them. “James floo your mother and have her come through, Sirius get both your parents if you can, then meet up with us in the clearing from the other day, don’t dawdle.”

James nodded his head while Sirius said. “Yes Mr. Potter.”

Leaving the boys to follow his directions Harold escorted the Lupin’s down the street toward the shrieking shack and the forest beyond.

Stepping out of the fireplace his wife right behind him Orion Black, Patriarch of the Black family noticed the way Miriam Potter was nervously scanning the crowd to see who was watching them and stared at his oldest son before saying. “What have you done now Sirius? More to the point why are you not in school?”

“Orion, Walburga so good of you to come so quickly. We must be quick if we want to meet up with Harold before…” Miriam Potter stopped her explanation with a worried frown afraid she would say too much.

Now that they were out of the pub and in the street Orion asked his son. “Sirius what is going on? Where are you taking us?”

“Mother…Father I gave my word to keep this persons identity secret and this is not a person you would ever break your word to.” Sirius said uncomfortably, not wanting to get on his parents bad side.

“Sirius I don’t care who you made a promise too, you will tell your father…” Walburga scolded her son before being cut off by Sirius.

“Mother remember those bed time stories you used to read to us when we were small, the ones were you told us of the gift of magic, and those that gave us the gift. That is who I am talking about, or at least one like in the story. I am not going to break my word to him, not after watching what Dumbledore did to him when he came to get in contact with Remus’s parents.” Sirius told her before walking away not about to break his word and deciding that the farther away he was the less chance his parents had to work on him.

Looking at her son strangely Walburga said before trailing off. “But the only stories I told them when they were growing up about the gift of magic had to do with….”

Eyes widening she grabbed her husbands arm and softly hissed out. “Orion we have to move quickly before they get out of sight, we must not be left behind.”

Not liking being pulled like his wife was doing Orion hissed. “What are you doing, this is not dignified. A black should not be seen running like this.”

“Merlin, I swear were you not listening to our son, and to who he gave his word to, the ones that gave the gift of magic to witches and wizards.” Walburga whispered frantically afraid of being overheard.

Looking to Miriam questioning his eyes showed his shock when she nodded her head confirming his wife’s guess.

Picking up his pace they quickly moved past the edge of the village and entered the clearing near the haunted building known as the shrieking shack.

Noticing his son and the Potter boy enter the forest Orion started to worry, but after glancing towards Miriam he relaxed slightly.

Ten minutes later they met up with the somewhat confused and anxious parents of Remus.

Allowing himself to be herded along with the others inside a circle, which looked suspiciously like stone hedge Orion looked in surprise to see the stones covered in writing and runes.

“Before we go any further I need to explain something I was told not more than an hour ago. A bow of respect begins and ends with you standing facing the person with a pause as you bend in the middle. Anything else is considered a bow of fear and under no circumstances do you want to do that.” Harold confused them with his explanation

Making sure that everyone was well inside the circle Harold spoke up clearly. “We eight seek entry to Sanctuary.”

A brief flash of light heralded the arrival of the eight of them into the array stationed at one end of the barn.

Misty being the one closest walked over and gave the wizards a quick look, seeking injuries that would need to be treated.

Stepping gout of the circle Harold looked down to see a different house elf, though this one also wore the strange white vest with the colorful crest on it and told her. “We are neither injured or hurt in any way, we bring the parents of Remus Lupin with us.”

Nodding her head she motioned for them to follow her as she called out as she neared the shimmering across the hall. “Mistress High One, the parents you is being waiting for is here.”

The Lupin’s and Blacks froze briefly as they heard the words of the house elf. Looking back and forth between them with wonder and to see if the other heard what they did, they shook themselves out of their stupor when they noticed Miriam and Harold had already passed through the shimmering across the hall.

Quickly catching up they stared in shock at the tall regal High One that was busy directing other high Ones in rearranging the beds and cupboards.

“Who did you say was here Misty?” Amathal asked as she turned around and noticed the group of eight standing just inside the room.

Very mindful of the words Harold spoke a few moments before as a group the bowed in respect while the adults murmured out. “High One.”

James and Sirius had quickly stepped over to the side of the bed and looked down at their friend in worry.

“He’s going to be ok isn’t he?” James asked.

Looking at he two young men that were obviously very worried over their friend’s health, Amathal told them. “He is going to be fine. We healed up his injuries without a problem.”

Facing the adults once again she asked. “Which of you are Remus’s parents?”

Edward and Lucia Lupin stepped forward while Edward spoke out hesitantly. “We are.”

“Good, then we can discus…” Amathal broke off as she turned to the loud voice of her lord.

“Of all the manipulative scatterbrained….That old coot…How DARE he.” Harry ranted, his voice becoming louder the closer he came to the hospital.

“If its war Dumbledore wants then I will give him one.” Harry spat out as he walked in the room and stooped when he noticed the beds had been moved.

Stopping and scanning the room taking in how much it had changed in the short time he had been gone Harry eventually ended up with his gaze on those standing near Remus’s bed.

Visibly calming himself Harry walked over to where the group was clustered around the bed. Looking over the group and comparing the youngsters to the adults Harry quickly paired them up. “So it seems I could have avoided so much unpleasantness if I had just waited. It seems Remus’s parents made their way here without the help of that old fool.”

“My Lord, Mr. Potter came bearing a message from the Goblins this morning and volunteered to gather up the boys parents so they could approve of the treatment …” Amathal stopped as both she and Harry turned their heads and faced back towards the array with intense expressions on their faces.

Taking a step to go back the way he had come Harry was stopped by Amathal’s voice and the rolled scroll she shoved his way. “My Lord, there are enough of us in the healing hall to be able to handle the injured that show up without you having to stop what you are doing every time a new patient shows up.”

Harry stared a the retreating back of Amathal the healer that Saero brought the other day, by the looks of how she had rearranged his hospital she was planning on staying.

Shaking his head slightly Harry turned back to the group of parents and noticed that Remus was just stirring and waking.

Placing the scroll under his belt so he would not lose it Harry asked. “Remus how far along in the book I left with you?”

Blinking back the sleep in his eyes Remus looked around to see James and Sirius sitting on the end of his bed and his parents next to him. “Mum…Dad what are you doing here?”

Looking around Remus’s eyes widened as he saw Both James and Sirius parents in the room and then his eyes fell to the end of the bed and the young man standing there, the same young man that he now remembered talking to earlier, the same face that now had very pointed ears showing through his long hair.

Remus mouthed out High One before whimpering slightly as he continued to stare at the young man, no High One.

Pointing to the book he noticed on the side table Harry asked again. “Remus how far along in the book are you?”

Not able to speak properly Remus grabbed the book as fast as he could and showed the end to Harry showing the bookmark halfway through the pages as his mouth tried to work without sound.

“Well since I would have to give your parents some back ground information I might as well give you the short version.” Harry told Remus before facing the group of adults.

“Eighteen hundred years ago more or less a wizard was experimenting trying to discover a way to become a shape shifter. He came up with these complex theories, one more outlandish than the other, until he finally hit on one that worked.

A series of runes were magically inscribed on his bones that allowed him to turn into a giant wolf.

The problem is he never took into account what would happen if the runes were broken through damage to his bones.

It was the night of the full moon when he had an accident that broke his arm while in wolf form, this in turn destroyed several of the runes on his arm and when morning came he transformed back into a human shape painfully.

After healing his arm he started to plan the next set of runes and their placement to allow him to transform into an equine form.

It was during this time that the night of the blue moon happened, this is the rare occurrence where two full moons happen during the same month.

As the first rays of the moon touched his arm that had the partially destroyed runic inscriptions on it he transformed into a huge feral wolf, bent on destruction from the pain of the transformation.

The next morning he awoke in a clearing some miles away from his house and after making his way back to partially destroyed house he set about making things right.

Finally a week later he found the cause of his uncontrolled transformation, the runes he had inscribed had been broken, not only broken but corrupted into something else.

After inscribing the runes on his other arm he banished the bones in his arm and re-grew them to start over, all the while oblivious to the fact he had injured and bitten several villagers while transformed.” Harry told the story.

“Werewolves.” Edward whispered out as he stole a glance at his son.

Orion was not a slow man, he caught out of the corner of his eye Remus getting paler as the story went on and how Edward looked horrified.

“Last nigh was a full moon, and Remus was injured and found his way here. You are telling us he has been infected.” Orion said stiffly not sure what to do about his sons friendship with the boy now.

Not correcting the man Harry told him. “Yes and to tell him of the treatment that would for the lack of a better word cure him, though other places that are not so easily broken will be used to inscribe the runes on.”

‘That’s why I went to see that meddling stalker up at Hogwarts. I wanted to advise Remus’s parents of his sons healed injuries and get their permission to inscribe the runic combinations on Remus’s bones so that he would become a shifter and not suffer the uncontrolled changes and dementia of the disease as it is now.” Harry told them softly, hoping they understood what he was offering and would let him go through with it.

“A CURE.” James yelled out in glee.

“Hear that Remus there is a cure.” Sirius was just as excited.

Edward gathered up his wife who had gone weak kneed at the mention of a cure.

“Not to burst any ones dreams here.” Orion said as he stepped forward before asking. “What is to keep the same thing that happened to the wizard that developed the curse from happening to Remus if he would happen to be injured again?”

Nodding his head Harry told him. “That is a very good question and the answer is simple, so simple I do not know why the wizard of the time did not think of it, We will inscribe the runes on a set of bones that if they were to break would leave Remus dead anyways so there would not be a chance that he could turn feral and infect any others.”

Seeing their confusion Harry pointed to the back of Sirius’s neck. “The first vertebrae where the neck and the head meet. We will inscribe the runic sets here. Any force hard enough to break the bone will leave him dead anyway.”

Lucia stepped forward eagerly and cried out. “Yes, please do it, I don’t want my son to suffer any more.”

Giving her a slight nod of his head in acknowledgement Harry told her. “Then we will do so tonight, though he will have to remain here for several weeks to learn to control his shifting ability.”

Remus through all this was staring in shock as he held onto the book while sitting on the bed the only thing going through his mind was he would be cured.

“The only problem I foresee is when the ministry casts a revealing charm on Remus it will show he is infected with lycanthropy.” Orion said sadly.

Shaking his head Harry answered. “Not really, I understand the charm causes a person that is infected to glow blue, after the treatment he will glow purple, showing that he is a shifter.”

“Is there any other disadvantages, which werewolves normally have that will carry over to Remus after treatment?” Harold asked.

Placing his hands on the rail at the end of the bed Harry spoke directly to Remus as he answered Mr. Potter’s question. “There will be no allergy to silver, there will be no lunar initiated transformation. He will have increased strength and senses, and be slightly faster than someone that is not a shifter. I do believe he would also be able to communicate mentally with canines.”

Remus was grinning at this, as he noticed James and Sirius had been working hard on the Animagus transformation and were close to succeeding, he would be able to talk mind to mind with Sirius.

“As I said before we would require Remus to spend some time learning how to control his new abilities and handle the new strength without injuring someone by mistake. So if we do this he would have to stay and be schooled by some of our scholars until he learned control.” Harry told the very eager boy. “You of course are welcome to visit as much as you would like, we would not want to get between a parent and their child.”

Amathal had come back at this point and grinned. “So I take it permission has been granted?”

Seeing Remus practically bouncing in the bed clutching the book with a smile on his face that looked like it split it in two she chuckled as he told her. “Oh yes, and I get to study here while I learn to control being a shifter.”

Suddenly remembering Remus cried out in dismay. “My wand, I left my wand in the castle, how am I going to learn without my wand.”

Looking at Remus with a scolding expression. “You are well past the age where you should be using a wand.”

Orion was disturbed by this news, looking over at Harold he noticed he was also disturbed and mulling the words over in his mind.

“As long back as I can remember witches and wizards have needed a wand to use our magic.” Orion said slowly.

Amathal was confused, she said. “But that is not how we designed the gift of magic when we gave it to the race of man.”

Harry spoke up knowing what the problem was, he had read about soon after finding the outpost in his old world. “The problem is they no longer have any true masters to pass along the knowledge on how to access their magic the way they are supposed to.”

“WHAT.” Amathal yelled as she turned quickly to face Harry.

“But what of this Headmaster you were just ready to declare war on?” Amathal asked.

Shrugging his shoulder Harry told her. “He is not a true marked master, and while he probably has some small ability to do things without a wand, he can not access his magic without one.”

Smirking Harry finished by saying. “I proved that after he and the others tried to stun me and I summoned their wands and turned them to ash.”

The Potters and Blacks were horrified that the headmaster would attack the High One, and remembering his earlier words about war they were worried.

“Regardless I can not in good conscious let my patient go back to that sham of a school. If you even suggest it I shall claim healers Rights over Remus.” Amathal said in a huff.

”Are you suggesting that we allow them to attend school here then?” Harry asked already knowing the answer.

“You do realize that would include his two friends sitting right there.” Harry pointed at James and Sirius.

‘It matters not they need to learn to properly control their magic.” Amathal told him.

“Your claim only extends to Remus, so if you plan to do this you will need the permission of all three sets of parents.” Harry reminded her.

“Tell you what, I will have Trisky make sure there is enough for dinner so that you can answer all their questions. It is only fair that they make an informed decision about their son’s future.” Harry offered to meet her halfway.

Stiffly she bowed he head slightly as she thanked him. “Thank you my Lord that is kind of you to offer the hospitality of your table. Please do not forget to read your correspondence.” Amathal told him as she turned back to the confused parents and slightly hyper young men.

Journey to a new start ch 7

Chapter 7
Breaking the seal on the parchment for the secret to the Fidelius for this location Harry read the pass phrase and looked up to see the building shimmer into view.

Grinning with determination Harry walked towards the building intent on freeing those inside.

Walking inside the first thing he noticed was the pens holding what looked like a range from infant to young adult house elves, thirty in total being cared for by house elves wearing glowing collars. Waving his hand at the pens, the doors dissolved allowing the house elves the freedom to leave the cage.

Hearing the cries of “High One” from multiple voices of all ages Harry motioned for those wearing the glowing collars to approach.

Touching a finger to the control collar of the first house elf he came to Harry felt for the magic that was built into the collar and started to unweave it.

Finding the key point that would destroy the collar Harry fed a burst of magic into the collar causing it to glow brightly before falling to the floor in several pieces.

Pointing to the next house elf kneeling Harry said. “Stand up all of you. And come closer so I can get those blasted collars off of you.”

Moving swiftly through the house elves it was only a matter of minutes before he had all the collars removed and piled on the floor.

“Wait here until I call for you.” Harry whispered to the house elves as he waited to move forward until he had seen them nodding their heads in understanding.

Quietly making his way to the closed door leading further in the building Harry opened it while listening for any signs of life.

Not hearing anything Harry opened the door and noticed he had found the room that housed the queens.

Hearing some swearing coming from around the corner Harry silently made his way as he listened in on the conversation.

“I told Marcus not to breed this one anymore. I told him the last three died after casting the necto servus on the damn pups.” The voice said as Harry heard the man cast a banishing charm.

Peaking around the corner Harry saw one of the house elf queens tied down to the table still in the midst of giving birth while the grizzly wizard was banishing several dead house elf babies.

Angry Harry gathered his magic and froze the man in mid movement and quickly conjured chains to bind him, as he removed his wand from his hand and moved around so that he could be clearly seen, he then held the wand up so it could be seen and applying pressure snapped it before dropping it to the ground.

Staring at the man with some small amount of hate, Harry finally broke eye contact when the man soiled himself in fear.

Serves him right Harry though as he removed a chest from his belt and enlarged it and levitated out a metal arch covered in runic inscriptions. An arch made especially for the purpose of quick transport back to Sanctuary in cause of an evacuation of his forces due to a route during the war back in his old world.

Casting a diagnostic charm followed by a pain relief charm at the queen tied to the table Harry placed the arch on the floor and taking a crystal from on of his belt pouches inserted it into the top of the arch activating the enlargement charms built into the arch while at the same time providing power as it hunted for the connection to the main hospital array.

Smiling when the arch started to glow and he could see into the hospital area Harry started to untie the house elf queen while calling out for help. “Itsy, Misty I need your help.”

Itsy hearing her Sirs voice ran towards the array and looked around wildly for her Sir or any thing else that was injured that he would need her help with.

Not seeing any injured in the arrival area or her sir Itsy called out. ‘Where is Sir Emerald Eyes being?”

Hearing the call Harry answered back. “Over here Itsy, there’s a door open you can see from inside the array.”

Curious Itsy moved into the circle and looked around and exclaimed in shock when she saw a doorway between two of the pylons that showed her Sir working on something that was tied down.

“Misty is coming here to help Itsy help her Sir.” Itsy yelled at her helper that was walking in the barn from checking on the last few Unicorns still hanging around the outside treatment area having given birth to their foals the night before.

Sending a bit of healing magic into the house elf after the hard labor she had endured Harry turned to the arch and ordered. “Itsy walk through the doorway so you can help me, Misty go find Eldest and bring him back here with as many house elves as you can.”

Itsy trusting her sir and noticing the blood and fluids on the floor by his feet quickly ran through the doorway and found herself in a place she never thought she would see again, the house elf breeding facility.

Shaking a little bit until she noticed the wizard chained and unable to move she quickly snapped out of her shock and moved forward to help the breeding queen heal from her long labor.

Letting Itsy deal with the healing Harry looked around the twelve cages to see if he could find the cascade point like he did for the slave collars and release the imprisoned breeding house elves.

Hearing a steady stream of pops from behind him Harry looked over his shoulder to see several dozen house elves walking into the facility through the arch.

Seeing two house elves he hoped to see Harry called out. “Blinky, Tinky over here.”

The two house elves quickly moved to his side hands moving in agitated motions in front of them.

“I need you two to move to the next room and gather up all the house elves and escort them back to Sanctuary.” Harry told them.

Blinky wrung his hands and asked bravely. “Sir Emerald Eyes be taking house elves that not be belonging to Sir. Is Sir being getting in trouble?”

Shaking his head at how brainwashed the house elves in his employ still were Harry answered. “I bought these facilities to put an end to the enslavement of house elves, so in a sense even though the elves in the next room are not bonded I am not stealing them.”

Grinning now that he knew that he was not stealing Blinky nodded his head and ran into the other room promising to punish him self later for doubting Sir. Before remembering he was ordered never to punish him self as he was a proud free elf.

Later he thought, later he would find an appropriate chore to do without PAY for doubting Sir as he moved to escort the little ones to their new home.

Oblivious to the internal antics of Blinky Harry finally found the key stone of the weaving and placing his finger near it sent out a large uncontrolled burst of magic into it overloading the cage causing a cascade failure.

Moving over to the next cage in line Harry ordered. “Eldest, make sure you get the breeding house elves out of here and back to Sanctuary, make sure they know that they are being rescued.”

“Yes High One, Eldest being doing as your say.” Eldest said as he smiled and moved across the failed wards and snapped his fingers opening the cage.

Gently reaching out he placed his fingers on the forehead of the creature called a house elf queen because she was a breeding female and usually had three or four babies at one time, and thought hard of giving her the information about the High One and how they would be free and safe once they made it through the arch.

Handing the house elf off to another Eldest quickly repeated the procedure with the ten other house elf queens freed.

Harry finished bringing the wards down around the cages walked up to the wizard to get some answers.

Making sure the man could see him clearly Harry tilted his head to the side and brushed his hands through his hair exposing his long pointed ears.

Snapping his fingers just like a house elf Harry released the freezing spell he had placed on the mans muscles and allowed him to move within the constraints of the chains around his upper body.

Morris fell to his knees at the sight of the being of legend in front of him.

Harry held his hand out and made the motion as if grabbing the mans shirtfront and lifted his arm. The man levitated from the floor as if he was lifted.

“You would do well to remember that I will not take kindly to being lied to. If I catch you in a lie I will leave you in the building as I destroy the grounds.” Harry told him through gritted teeth anger just this side of being under control.

Nodding his head in fright Morris knew better than lie to one of the High Ones.

“Good.” Harry told him as the man nodded his head in agreement. “Now tell me are there any more magical beings or creatures on this property?”

Nodding his head still to frightened to speak Morris flinched as the High One growled out. “Where and what, do not make me ask this of you twice.”

Gulping Morris stammered. “Out…Out back.”

Swallowing at the glare he quickly babbled out placing blame on another. “A group of Pegasus, Clyde broke their wings so they could not leave.”

Growling in anger at the cruelty Harry let his spell go and directed the rage that was building up his magic at the wall blowing a huge hole in it exposing the narrow cages holding the crippled Pegasus.

Not waiting for Harry to tell them what to do the house elves waiting for their next orders rushed out through the hole he had created and started to free the crippled flying horses and help them towards the archway and healing.

After the last one had been moved through the arch Harry growled. “Any others? Or anything else you want to tell me wizard?”

Morris shook his head no as violently as he could really scared now.

A violent motion of his hand and the chained man was floating near the hole in the wall while Harry talked to the house elves.

“Eldest be ready in around fifteen minutes I will be opening another doorway in the other breeding facility and we shall rescue the last of the house elves held for breeding purposes.” Harry warned them. “this next one is the bigger of the two so there might be more to rescue beside your people.”

“Eldest will have the others ready High One.” Eldest said proudly as he motioned for Tinky to go through the doorway.

Once the house elves were through the archway Harry went over to it and reaching up pulled the crystal deactivating the arch causing it to shrink back down to a manageable size.

Levitating the arch into the open trunk and shrinking it down so it could be clipped onto his belt Harry beckoned with his finger at the floating man and walked out of the hole and toward the edge of the Fidelius charm.

Placing his hand on the ward that held the Fidelius Harry started a chain reaction that would bring down the Fidelius without disturbing to greatly the unplottable charm woven into the ground of the property.

Satisfied when ten minutes later the Fidelius fell in a flash of rainbow colored waves Harry started to chant in an ancient dialect not heard on this world before since the foundation of magic was released into the world.

Morris watched in fear as the High One started to chant and the building that housed the breeding facility started to melt into the ground as bolt after bolt of lightening hit the structure.

Morris was barley in control as the chanting started to change in rhythm and tone and flowers and grass started to flow in from the edges of the burnt out ground completely hiding the fact that a terrible hand of justice had touched the ground destroying the building and surrounding pens.

Staring at the chained man Harry dispelled the chains he had conjured and reached down with magically amplified muscles picked the man up and held him up near his face and broke through the mans brittle mind shields to find out what he knew of the other facility.

Not saying anything Harry dropped the man to the ground after finding out that three people staffed the other facility at all times, Harry stepped a meter or so away and slashed his hand down opening a rift and stepping through leaving a weeping and broken slaver behind on the ground.

Stepping up to the magical field he felt Harry broke open the parchment holding the password to the Fidelius and walked through the wards once the buildings became visible.

Hearing the angry screams of Graphorn and swearing coming from around the back of the one building Harry trying for stealth moved towards the sounds intent on starting the taking of prisoners there.

Spotting the Graphorn in some kind of stock as the wizard was using a saw to cut off its horns Harry sent a powerful stunner intending to take down both at once.

Quickly scanning the area to make sure no one else was around Harry moved swiftly over to the fallen man and quickly bound him in chains and stuck him to the side of the barn out of reach of most animals.

One down two more to go Harry thought as he quickly checked inside the barn to see several more Graphorn’s penned awaiting having their horns removed.

Moving to the next building Harry peaked in the window to see several cages filled with Ashwinders and other venomous reptiles.

Looked like this was also a magical creature farm, where they raised creatures for potion ingredients.

Not sure what he was going to do with this place once he release the house elves Harry moved to the other barns and hit pay dirt when he peaked into the last barn before the breeding facility.

Another wizard talking to one of the many Thestral’s in the barn as he groomed the skeletal creature. “It’s not right how you all are kept like you are. I did not hire one to work at a place like this; Marcus lied about what kind of place this was.”

Placing his head on the Thestral’s neck the young man Harry noticed had tears running down his face. “It’s not right, and I can’t even leave this place after they caught me trying to escape.”

Thinking that it was about time he met a wizard with some morals Harry walked calmly up the aisle and watched as the herd of Thestral’s noticed him and bowed their heads.

Thomas seeing the Thestral’s bowing in respect turned around quickly to see what looked like a young boy walking down the aisle towards where he was standing.

“Who are you? How did you get past the wards? More importantly can you get out and bring back help?” Thomas rushed out his questions hope of escaping flaring to life once more.

Ignoring the young mans questions Harry asked one of his own. “Where is the other man at, I already took care of the one cutting the horns off the Graphorn’s.”

Thomas looked at the boy in surprise and confusion, this little bitty boy took out a fully trained killer, and it just did not make any sense.

Not that he was slow or anything but Thomas was muggle born and did not grow up with the stories and legends of the High Ones so he had no clue who or what this pointy ear boy was.

“Look you need to get out of here before Marcus comes back with Fredrick. What they will do to you will, not be pleasant.” Thomas shuddered as he tried to get the boy to leave.

Harry realized the young man did not recognize him even with his ears exposed, interesting he thought. “Don’t worry about me.” Harry told him.

“So what is Marcus doing here?” Harry asked knowing that Marcus should not have been able to gain access to this place after the Fidelius was changed.

Maybe if he told this kid that Marcus was planning to steal house elves after he sold the whole place to someone else the kid would take off and tell someone. “He is rounding up some of the house elves so he can set up a hidden breeding operation; he never planned on keeping his word when he sold this place. He arrived by port key ten minutes ago.” Thomas told him.

Harry was angry at finding out that the wizard never intended to keep his word and hissed out. “Oath breaker.”

Staring at the Thestral’s that had gathered close by Harry told them. “Guard and keep this one in here.” Before turning and walking back the way he came.

Thomas was very confused when the Thestral’s he had been caring for followed the strange boys orders and encircled him, pressing him into the center of their herd as they closed ranks.

Opening the top of one of the many belt compartments around his waist Harry pulled out an orange colored crystal that they had developed to combat death eaters erecting wards that they could key themselves into to escape while everyone else was stuck inside.

Several nasty incidents had occurred trapping order members inside warded structures while they burned down, unable to escape the flames. These Crystals were Hermione’s answer to the problem.

It was only possible because Harry was able to grow crystals with his magic that they could store spells in them.

Launching the crystal towards the wards high above, Harry smiled in satisfaction as the crystal hit the wards and they resonated with phoenix song as the wards were altered to not allow any travel through them by magical means.

Forgetting stealth Harry made his way over to the breeding facility and melted the door allowing entry into the building.

Seeing the two wizards collecting some of the young house elves into a cage Harry started throwing spells in their direction to counter the stunners they had started firing off as the door melted.

Harry was angry now as he battered yet another stunner away before it had any chance of getting close to him.

Wanting to end this before any of the house elves were caught in the cross fire Harry went on the offensive and started to throw spells from both hands as fast as he could think of the effects wanted.

Time to end this Harry told him self as he gathered his magic and targeted the taller of the two who ducked the spell he sent with his right hand by dodging right into the one he had sent with his left.

After that the shorter of the two turned to flee and was an easy capture as he turned and tripped over one of the cages holding one of the really young house elves.

Binding the two men with conjured chains and deciding to punish them further for attacking him Harry pulled two smoky crystals out and rolling the two stunned men over ripped the men’s robes open and placed a crystal on each of their bare chests.

The crystals had been designed as a means of draining a prisoners magic to the point they could not perform the simplest spell without a weeks worth of rest or several nasty foul tasting potions.

The added benefit was that the crystals would store the magic they siphoned off so that it could be used for better purposes.

Harry remembered back to the day he loaned Hermione a couple of books he had translated from the Sanctuary library that outlined crystal magic. It had been spectacular the blow up she had when Harry refused to tell where he had gotten the tomes from or tell her anything about them except to say they came from his private library.

Harry smiled as his memories played back as he went about setting up the archway so he could start the evacuation.

Anyone watching Harry at the moment would more than likely have run the other way after taking one look at the giggling young man going about setting up some strange contraptions.

Inserting the power crystal into the archway Harry laughed out loud as he remembered the morning he had caught Hermione trying to take his trunk apart, sure that he had hidden compartments inside it that had his library.

Whispering “This is for you Hermione.” Harry stood back and started to remove the collars of the male drones charged with raising the young house elves.

Eldest was fidgeting waiting for the doorway to open, it was way past the time Sir had told him the doorway would be opened and he was starting to worry that something might have gone wrong.

Sighing in relief when the doorway snapped into existence Eldest ordered all the waiting house elves to quickly go through.

“Ah young Lord your little ones were getting quite worried that you had missed the appointed time you told them the doorway would open.” Trava’in told him approaching Harry as he released another house elf from his control collar.

Turning around quickly at the sound of the strange voice behind him Harry stood up and was slightly surprised so see so many High Elf’s walking through the archway.

Blinking in surprise as he stood up straight, Harry asked. “Hello, not to sound crass or anything but why are you all here?”

Chuckling at the expression on the young lords face Trava’in decided introductions were in order. “Sorry I sometimes forget not every knows me by sight.”

“Let me introduce myself I am Trava’in Lord of the lands hidden in the forest.” Trava’in told him as he extended his arm in welcome.

Clasping the other Lords forearm Harry told him. “Nice to meet you.”

Chuckling Trava’in told him. “I had stopped by to introduce myself and invite you to dinner one night this week, so you could have a chance to see some Elvin holdings other than your own, only to find your little ones worried that you had missed the appointed time you told them you would be calling for their help.”

“They are very attached to you.” Trava’in told him.

Wincing slightly Harry replied. “Yes well this place is a lot bigger and involved than I was led to believe. It seems this is a magical creature farm where the animals are raised for the ingredients they can provide.”

Looking over Trava’in’s shoulder Harry saw that the queens were starting to be moved through the archway and to safety.

“Strange little creatures.” Trava’in commented. “I have never seen their like before.”

“One of my best friends back in my old world made it her purpose in life to find everything she could about house elves and their origin in the attempt to find out how to break their enslavement.” Harry told him getting lost in memories.

“She spent every free moment that was not devoted to the war effort to discovering how house elves were created. She came up with some pretty far fetched theories at times and used to look so put out when most of them were proven false.” Harry laughed at the memory.

“It was only several years after her death that I discovered the information Hermione only speculated on. Seems house elves were created by selective breeding several different species with magic by wizards long ago looking to come up with the perfect servants.” Harry explained before moving to check on his prisoners.

‘She might have eventually realized the key to providing house elf freedom if she had only known they have four sexes. It would have given her the clues to theorize that there had to be queens, not that the enslavement spell destroyed the reproductive organs.” Harry reached down and grabbed the taller wizard waking him as he said that.

“Now who would you be?” Harry inquired at the scared wizard in his grip.

Jerking his head to the side towards the shorter man he babbled. “That’s the one you want. That’s Marcus there, he’s the one you want.”

“So the oath breaker is that one is it?” Harry hissed at him. “But that still does not excuse your attack on me, now does it?”

Pocketing the crystal that had been stuck to the mans chest Harry pulled a pitch black crystal out of one of the compartments that was heavily reinforced with many protections including a lock set to his magical signature only.

Now that the mans core was so depleted due to the first crystal, Harry shoved the thin sharp black crystal into the mans chest and chanted the incantation to activate it he had developed along with the crystal.

Releasing the man he fell to the floor screaming in pain as his magical core collapsed in on itself.

Harry told the now whimpering man. “It is never a good idea to attack one of the High Elf’s, you might find that the gift of magic is taken away for such an offense.”

Trava’in was surprised but satisfied with the punishment the young lord had administered, it needed to be very clear to all the other races how unwise it is to attack one of the High Elf’s.

Waking up Marcus Harry battered his way inside the mans defenseless mind making sure that there was not any other secret breeding centers around the world and that no one else had the knowledge of how the house elves were created.

Letting go of the now drooling man as he stood up and considered what he had learned from Marcus’s mind. It seems much of the knowledge on the creation of house elves and why they applied what spells they did was lost to this world.

Feeling a tugging on his pants leg Harry Looked down at Tinky who was trying to get his attention.

Seeing Harry looking down at him Tinky asked. “Does Sir Emerald Eyes be wanting his house elves to be moving his critters through the door?”

Thinking about the best way to deal with the all the magical creatures housed here Harry decided to leave them as is until he could return them to the wild or some other option presented itself.

Kneeling down so Tinky did not strain his neck as he looked at him, Harry answered the house elves question with a request instead. “Tinky could you go back through the door and bring me back one of the silver chests that is behind my desk?”

Nodding his head Tinky told him, “Tinky will do.” Before running towards the arch to complete the task as quickly as possible.

Looking around the room Harry called out. “Eldest are you still around here somewhere?”

A pop from behind him alerted Harry to the arrival of Eldest.

“Eldest I need you to assign some elves to feed and care for the animals here until I figure out what to do with them.” Harry told him as he turned around.

Eldest bowed very aware of the other High Ones around his Sir. “Yes High One.”

Shaking his head in amusement Harry went over to the drooling man and exchanged the crystal on the man’s chest with the second and last of the black crystals he carried in his weapons pouch.

Activating the crystal with the same chanted incantation Harry levitated the slightly convulsing man along with the other and made for the door.

Tinky came running back in carrying a silver chest and happily called out. “Tinky has Sirs chest.”

Smiling Harry chuckled at the house elves enthusiasm. “Thank you Tinky, if you can make sure nothing alive is still in this building and warn the others on the others side of the arch to stay put please.”

Trava’in followed Harry as he moved to a large open area and opened the now enlarged silver chest and removed a miniature model of the Runic array he had arrived at this morning.

Harry placed the array on the ground and pushed his magic into each of the pylons of the shrunken array before stepping back quickly as it grew in size and started to glow ever so slightly with activation

Tinky happy to be of service to his Sir skipped out of the building and happily told him. “Building is empty, Tinky checked twice and told Misty not to let any ones through door.”

Smiling Harry told the happy elf. ‘Thank you Tinky.”

“Now to take care of this abomination of a building.” Harry muttered as he traced a rune in the air in front of him leaving an outline flickering in flames.

Once it was finished Harry said. “Eilolari.” Causing the rune to rush inside the building activating the self destruct on the archway.

Trava’in watched in awe as a shimmering silver light burst from inside of the building leaving behind it a gently falling trail of dust as the building disintegrated.

“By the Valar what just happened?” Trava’in asked in wonder.

“Back in my world during the war we had to come up with a sure fire way to make sure our escape routes did not fall into enemy hands, it was an added bonus that it also destroyed everything in the immediate area as it self destructed.” Harry shrugged uncomfortably at the magic they had designed during the war.

Sensing the young lord was uncomfortable Trava’in did not comment further not wanting to dredge up old memories before he had a chance to heal.

Watching some of the high Elf’s escorting the last two wizards in the compound over to where he was standing with their Lord Harry really wished he could collapse the core of the one that was bound just because of the mans cruel nature.

Conjuring some parchment and a pen Harry solidified the air in front of him so he could use it as a writing table.

Penning a quick note to Glathrock about the oath breaker he placed it on Marcus’s robe with a sticking charm and created a port key from one of the smaller crystal amplifiers in his weapons pouch.

That should give it the needed boost to take the foursome through Gringotts wards and deposit them in the lobby of the bank.

Glaring at the young man that looked like he wanted to wet himself in fear Harry gave him a warning before pressing the crystal in the young mans hands. “I am going to give you the benefit of assuming you hold no malice in your soul. Next time you are offered a job, take more care in investigating your working conditions.”

After the four had been transported away by port key Harry smiled at the chaos their arrival in Gringotts would cause among the Goblins before he turned to face his visitor.

Seeing the several dozen High Elf’s standing around Harry explained how to travel by array and invited them all to stay for lunch as he walked to the array escorting them to more comfortable surroundings.

Whispering to Tinky to inform Trisky that they would be having guests for lunch and the numbers she would need to feed, Harry turned. “Thank you for your help this morning. Feel free to wander around and make yourself at home.”

“Lunch shall be at noon and served on the patio overlooking the waterfall.” Harry told them pointing to the picnic area in the distance.

Steering Trava’in towards his office with a comment. “Shall we retire to my office to discuss your earlier invitation.”

XXX

It had been a fun filled lunch filled with jokes and stories about events in this world that went a long way to making Harry feel as an accepted and welcome member.

Walking towards the hospital Harry had put this meeting off long enough.

Entering the hospital Harry noticed Remus sitting on a chair next to one of the beds reading.

Chuckling at the bookish ways of this young version of his Remus Harry approached the bed.

“Feeling better?” Harry asked.

Startled Remus looked up to see a young person about his age approaching and smiled, finally a distraction. “Yes I am, in fact I am feeling great. Which is amazing in itself, it usually takes several days to recover from one of my episodes.”

Remus hoped he had been found after he transformed back and not while still transformed, he really liked it here and was afraid that if they found out what he was they would make him go away.

Dragging a chair over to join Remus Harry mentioned. “You were in pretty bad shape this morning when we found you, silver poisoning on top of the arrow damage.”

Remus was in shock they knew what he was; now like everyone else they were kicking him out for being the filthy evil beast he was.

Sensing the fear and seeing the hurt in Remus’s eyes Harry leaned forward and placed his hand gently on the others arm. “Relax Remus, yes we know what you are, and it DOES NOT MATTER.”

“It seems the only one hurt last night was you, though how the hunter picked up your trail I don’t know.” Harry told him as Remus started to settle down.

Sensing the other needed some thing to take his mind off the shocks that he was hit with Harry asked. “Did you have enough to eat for lunch?”

Shaking his head Remus replied. “I was not really hungry so I passed.”

Sighing Harry called out. “Misty.”

Seeing the little house elf poke her head from around the cupboard she was standing behind as she watched the young boy in her care Harry asked her to bring Remus his lunch.

When the steaming bowl of stew and fresh bread appeared in front of Remus Harry told him. “Dig in, the sooner you get your strength back the sooner you can get out of here.”

Something was strange about the boy Remus thought, come to think of it this was the first person he had seen so far this morning and he wondered why as he heard a ruckus and voices coming from down the way most of the morning.

“Not to be ungrateful, because I really am grateful for all the help I have received so far, but who are you and where am I?” Remus asked spooning up the tasty stew.

Settling back in his chair Harry had wondered how long it would be before Remus asked this question. “My name probably will give your more questions than answer but here goes. I am Mytimah Na Arkeanea’ghymn Lord of these lands known as Sanctuary.”

Remus let go of his spoon and it clattered to the floor as it bounced off the edge of the table.

Remus stared at the young boy that looked younger than him in confusion and said the first thing to come to mind. “Aren’t you a bit young to be a Lord?”

Laughing at the confused curiosity on Remus’s face Harry told him as if it was a big secret. “If you multiply the age I look like by three you would be close.”

Remus’s eyes bugged out as he tried to wrap his mind around that fact.

Misty who had brought Remus a new spoon placed it on the table and scolded him. “Eat, you not be released from the hospital if you do not eat.”

Remus slowly picked up his spoon like it was going to bite him as he stared at the house elf with very un-house elf like behavior.

Casting a diagnostic spell Harry decided that Remus could do with a few more meals and some more sleep, but otherwise was ready to be released. Fingering the vial that the had taken from his private safe, he wondered if he should just dose the young man in front of him without asking his parents permission, knowing how his Remus had reacted to the news of the control that he had developed.

While totally rubbish at potions while in school, Harry was not really that bad left to his own devices, he would never be a potion master put he could brew most anything he had a recipe for.

The thing was that the cure he had discovered was not so much a potion as a runic inscription that the original wizard that developed the disease in an attempt to come up with a sure fire way of becoming an Animagus.

Something had gone wrong when the wizard was injured runes inscribed on the wizards forearm were destroyed when he broke it, thus allowing the disease to be transferred to others and become the curse it was today.

Harry’s solution to the problem of inscribing the runes on the bones was to inscribe it on a bone that if was broken would also result in the death of the person, making sure the failed transformation turned curse was not passed on.

A little technomancy allowed him to inscribe the runic set on the first two vertebra on a persons neck, thus if the bones were ever broken the person would not be breathing anyway. His Remus once he learned the ins and outs of his new control was overjoyed and acted like a new man.

It had even allowed Harry to steal the allegiance of all the werewolf clan’s world wide to his side away from Voldemort.

“Toby.” Harry called for his librarian.

Toby popped into the hospital and looking around and spotting Harry walked over and asked. “What can Toby be doing for Sir.”

Smiling at how formal the little house elf was becoming even though he was one of the most well educated Harry replied. “Toby I need you to go to my private library and get the gold and green striped journal from the third row fifth shelf and bring it here please.”

Toby nodded his head regally causing Harry to giggle at his antics as he popped away.

Turning to look at the curious Remus Harry told him. “I have something I would like you to read and study this afternoon while you rest up, later when I return I would like to talk it over with you.”

Toby popped back in and Harry thanked him as he took the offered journal and handed it over to Remus as he stood. ‘Please study it carefully; it has information that could be life changing for you.”

Leaving the room with a curious and somewhat fearful Remus Lupin staring at the journal he was holding Harry went to make arrangements to summon the boy’s parents.
