Sidhe Rising ch 25 NaNo 2007

Well according to the running tally I am in second place for my region in written words :(

ok this chapter is all about character development, allowing some of the things that have been mentioned in others chapters to solidify, giving me a spring board to further develop them.

I will say that in the last chapter Nott was supposed to be turned into a Thrall according to my outline and his intended by contract was supposed to be turned on by his status and the idea of kinky sex as the story developed he did something to cause a shift which caused her viewpoint to shift so now we have the nasty scorned witch syndrome starting.

Ron is developing into more of a straight laced heterosexual character than outlined, while any horny teen loves a hot mouth around his member he shivers at going further even if he would only be on top...poor Ron limiting his fun that way LOL

Neville has turned into a stronger character that even surprised me with his hidden dominant nature.

no warnings in this one, no Harry in this one either

Monday morning found Draco helping Theo dress in his new form fitting forest green clothes, that pants left nothing to the imagination while the short sleeved form fitting silk like shirt with the golden emblem of the tree of life over the heart done in gold Celtic knot work was striking. Handing over the wand holster Draco stood back and decided Theo made an impressive figure, and all the old purebloods would know in an instant what the color and symbol on his breast meant. Theo was about to take the Wizarding world by storm Draco thought, more so than Harry and the other Sidhe, Merlin’s symbol was not as lost to history as the Sidhe were and only remembered by the oldest families.

Theo looked in the mirror and smiled at his reflection, pulling Draco over so they stood side by side he would have hexed anyone last year if they said he and Draco would end up as great friends. “That symbol looks good on you Draco,” Theo told him as he gazed at the reflection of the royal purple of the knot of motherhood on Draco’s left breast, though his bulging belly did distort the bottom of the symbol slightly. Nervous Theo gave one last look before heading out of the bedroom and down the hall, Draco at his side, Harry had planned on making somewhat of a scene entering the great hall this morning for breakfast.

Down on the ground floor the turned to their left and walked out the arch leading outside expecting to meet Harry and the others their only to be met by Alex waiting for them by the mirror. “His Majesty has already gone ahead to give his orders to the guards after hearing their reports, he still does not trust that fool of a headmaster not to try something.” Placing his hand on the mirror he waited for the ripples to start before waving the two thru.

Walking into Harry’s private rooms at Hogwarts Draco fought the urge to strip down and walked towards the book case that gave access to the common rooms. Walking through the bookcase he smiled as he was met by Neville, Colin and Ron along with the twins, snorting he would have to do something about all the lions around here, he needed some of his more trusted snakes and maybe a few of the ravens.

“Harry had to go meet with our parents and then he planned to join us at breakfast, we decided to walk with you so neither one of you had to enter the great hall by yourselves,” Fred told them as he eyed Theo’s new look, “Brother mine…”

“Losing the robes Fred,“ George finished his brothers sentence as he pulled his robes over his head, joining his brother in the tight dragon skin leather pants and shirt.

Ron looked disgusted before handing over a galleon to Neville who was smirking and holding out his hand. Bringing up the rear Neville could be heard as Fred and George jumped down the steps leading to the hallway chests as puffed up as they could get them in the tight leather outfits, “Told you so.”

Once Fred and George got to the doors leading into the Great Hall they stopped and looked back to see how close the others were before walking into the room, the chatter of the students in the middle of breakfast slowed to a quiet hush as those closest to the doors fell silent and neighbor after neighbor fell silent as they followed the gaze of the one who caught their attention by being silent in the first place. Chests puffed up and strutting up the aisle Fred and George were in their element as the students and staff gave them all of their attention, so much so that Draco and Theo were halfway up the aisle heading towards the table set up on the second tier, one step below the throne before one of the seventh year Ravenclaw’s caught sight of them. And she let out a scream, “HOLY MOTHER OF MERLIN…LOOK…” she pointed her finger towards the two walking past.

All eyes swiveled towards the two and the silence was broken by the excited and confused chatter of the students around them. Taking the two seats just below Harry’s throne Draco tried to ignore the gossip and stares as he filled his plate for the first time own his own since he had been taken, remembering the attempt on Harry’s child he stopped and looked at the food and drink with distrust, Deven who was standing in the shadow whispered loud enough for the two to hear, “I checked it after it appeared, it’s safe and no one has been near it.”

Relieved Draco went back to fixing his plate with all his favorites, piling on several more sausage patties Draco started to eat while glancing around the great hall, sure was different from up here he thought, the center of attention yet able to clearly see everything that is going on. Glancing down he looked over at his former house table and noticed who was taking notice of his and Theo’s change of status, he had to wonder just what the students in general had been told of what they could expect from now on. Nudging Theo he pointed out that for another day their head of house was missing, looking around he did not notice any other professor sitting at the Slytherin table though the other houses each had several of the professors sitting with them, he thought it might be time to see just who was loyal to the dark lord and who would be willing to pledge their loyalty to the Sidhe, “Snape is missing yet again, do you think we should approach some of the others to see where their loyalties lay, though I wonder why Flint has not been marked yet, I would have expected him to have taken the mark by know from what father had told me last year.”

“He may have been waiting to receive the mark at the next Hogsmeade weekend, it would make sense to mark the students after the Ministry had checked all the students out, I heard from several of the seventh years that their fathers were planning on meeting them and taking them to the dark lord so he could mark them, last I overheard there should have been around seven gathered that weekend.” Theo told him between bites of his waffle, looking around he nudged Draco and pointed him towards the Gryffindor table and McGonagall, “She looks like she was to cough up a fur ball or something.”

Draco snorted into his drink with that comment, “how long do you think it will be before she decides to come over and comment about our lack of proper school attire?”

“No bet on that one, she will do it before breakfast is over and after she corners the Weasley twins over their dragon hide clothes,” Theo whispered as he stabbed another sausage link from in front of Draco, at the same time pointing his fork towards the Hufflepuff table, “that group is the one going to be the hardest to win over, look at the Bones girl, her mother is the head of the DMLE and she looks like she is unsure of who she can talk to, nothing like she normally acts, even her friends look like they are avoiding her.”

Pushing the piece of waffle around his plate, trying to decide if he should finish it or not Draco commented on the group of Ravenclaw’s digging through the stack of books nearest where the head table used to be, “that lot is about to dissect every myth and legend they can get their hands on trying to analyze anything to do with the Unseelie.”

Sipping his tea after pushing his plate away Theo thought about what they were seeing, “you might want to talk to Harry and warn him how on edge the students really are under the calm exterior they are presenting to the rest of the school, the whole invasion and surrender of the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts has unsettled every single one of them. The hufflepuffs known for their loyalty have fractured, the Griffindor’s are running scared, the Ravenclaw’s are hiding in their books and not interacting with each other or having the normal debates over theory and the Slytherin’s have retreated so far into being unnoticed so they can sit back and decided how to best use the situation to their advantage it is ridicules.”

“The whole school is becoming a powder keg ready to explode, and when it does the Sidhe will come down hard and fast, it will be bloody and half the students could be lost if something is not done pretty soon,” Theo looked at Draco while he said this, noticing the expression on Draco’s face was confused, “You need to bring this to Harry’s attention, he will listen to you,” I hope he told himself.

Draco was confused, “you are forgetting one thing, Harry owns me so what makes you think he will listen to me, after all the only thing he is interested when it comes to me is his son,” he told him as he placed his hand across his belly, feeling the baby kick his bladder for the umpteenth time that morning. Dropping his wand out of the holster he tapped his lower abdomen and emptied his bladder once more to his relief, how the hell those without magic dealt with this he could not fathom, he would end up staying in the loo the whole day.

“That may be, but he certainly does not treat you like he treats the other Thralls, or is this some Brooder thing that I did not read about in the book he gave me?” Theo asked as he noticed Professor Flitwick stand up and start towards them.

“True, but for the first month while I was still a Thrall I was pretty much treated the same, I have it better now than I did but I think that is because I am carrying Harry’s son, though I can say it is almost like we are becoming friends.” Draco turned back towards the approaching Professor, “good morning Professor.”

“Good morning boys,” Filius looked closely at the crests on both their breasts, “My word…Mr. Nott I do believe that is very close to the symbol associated with Merlin though the one on your breast is different somehow.” Looking towards Draco and the symbol on his breast Filius cocked his head to the side and thought about what he was seeing, “I have never seen that symbol though Mr. Malfoy could you perhaps tell me what it means?”

Draco shrugged as he glanced down at the symbol on his shirt, “to tell the truth sir I have no clue what it means, all I know is that I was ordered to wear clothes with this symbol at all times I am outside the Sithen, if you really want to know you will have to ask Harry or one of the other Sidhe walking around,” pointing to Theo and smirking he said, “now Theo’s on the other hand is the mark of Myrrdyn, unlike Merlin who was known by the basterdized version of Myrrdin that the historians associate with Merlin. Even the symbol is different as the roots and branches of the tree become the knot work circle that surrounds the trunk instead a Celtic know circle surrounding the tree.”

Minerva who had wandered over when she saw her colleague make his way up to the table listened in and was intrigued with the information nevertheless asked, “I take it then Mr. Malfoy we cannot expect you to show up in the school uniform henceforth,” she frowned as she looked towards Theo, “And what is your excuse Mr. Nott for being out of uniform?”

Theo smiled trying to be charming, “this is the uniform I am required to wear from now on, it shows my station in the scheme of things so I am told.”

Scowling Minerva glared at Deven who was standing in the shadows, she planned to have a long talk with Mr. Potter, “Since you both were not here at the beginning of breakfast you will need to know that History of Magic has been moved to the fourth floor corridor in the west tower, and for the rest of the week Defense Against the Dark Arts has been canceled until the Auror rotation has been scheduled so use that time wisely to catch up with any work you are behind with.”

Fidgeting slightly Minerva looked back at Draco, “The headmaster is very insistent that you go to the hospital wing to be evaluated by Madam Pomfrey for some strange reason,” seeing him pale she was quick to add, “of course I expect you to be the ultimate Slytherin until Harry returns and avoid the headmaster, after the last meeting between Harry and the headmaster I do not think the school could survive the experience of a very angry Harry Potter, I dare say the headmaster shan’t.”

Looking to where Deven was standing he noticed he had stiffened at the professors words, glancing to Theo he did not notice any difference but Professor Flitwick was scowling in disapproval, Draco inclined his head slightly, “thank you for the advice professor, I shall of course be careful.”

Nodding her head in return Minerva started back to her lions, “see that you do Mr. Malfoy…I would hate to lose any more students…I fear I am about to lose too many as it is,” she glanced over to those darker aligned at the Slytherin table. “FRED…GEORGE WEASLEY put your robes over those clothes right now.”

“I am beginning to wander if coming back to Hogwarts is a good idea, I mean I already can pass the newts practical portion and could fudge it on the written with what Harry taught us this summer,” Draco whined as he thought how much nicer it would be to be reading on the beach right now instead of sitting in class being stared at or used as a pawn by the headmaster, “I am going to hex that meddling old man.”

Daphne frowned throughout breakfast she kept glancing at Theodore at the table on the riser, she knew the symbol he was wearing was old and in the back of her mind the thought was just out of reach that would tell her what that blasted thing was, after the whole incident the other day she was not sure if she was still under a marriage contract with Nott or whether that blasted Potter dissolved it when he took Theodore. That he was back to school so quickly was encouraging, on the other hand he was sitting up next to Draco and that could have so many meanings she could not think of a way to use it. She would just have to confront him she thought as she stood up and started to walk over to them as the rest of the hall emptied on their way to the first class of the morning.

Walking down the steps Theo groaned silently as he noticed Daphne Greengrass heading his way, he might as well get this over with he thought, “Daphne…”

“I am surprised to see you back, and not in chains like the Weaselette,” Daphne stepped next to him and started to walk along with them towards the doors as she started fishing for answer, ‘I am assume nothing much has changed then?”

Shaking his head Theo thought she needed to be reminded what subtle really meant, “Everything has changed Daphne, you should know by now change is part of nature.”

Growling under her breath Daphne glared at him, “That is not what I meant and you know it Theo.”

“Then say it plainly Daphne,“ Draco scowled as he noticed Pansy glaring at him before jumping back in, “Are you asking about your marriage contract and if it is still valid, the time for round about questioning and riddles is over, and I for one tire of them, and the constant back stabbing that we Slytherin’s have become under our head of houses rule.”

“Watch your back Malfoy…remember that from day one, that is our house creed and by the looks of things you are no longer part of our house,” Daphne hissed.

Laughing Draco shook his head in amusement, “Daphne your threat don’t work on me anymore, besides what do you think Harry and his hell hounds would do to you and your family if something happened to me now that you made a threat in front of one of his guards.”

Glancing around the other side of Draco she paled when she realized there was one of those tri-colored things within hearing distance, not only that but it was glaring at her.

“You know Daphne I think you better spend some time with the Ravenclaw’s, you need to research a little and read up about the rulers of magic…you know the ones that gave us magic in the first place,” The was totally disgusted with her, and truth be told really wanted nothing to do with her after learning about the contract arranged by his mother. Seeing her confused look at the abrupt change of the subject, “you face gave you away, you did not hold the mask in place well enough not to show your disgust. I would be careful if I were you, no reason to piss off a being that could just as easily kill you with a touch or whisper than rip your magic from your very soul.”

Stopping so he faced her, “And as far as what you really want to know, yes the marriage contract is invalid and if you want to pursue this you will have to sit down and have a long talk with Harry about drawing up another, last I heard he is very much against them unless the girl involved is not local and has no crossing with our bloodline for twenty generations or so,” glaring at her he smiled, “he also demands that there be minimum of four children.”

Daphne was outraged, “four…that is like a commoner, I argued against two…I will not be treated like some broodmare kept constantly pregnant…” she started to work herself up.

“That’s ok as if you so have children it certainly won’t be with me as the contract is null and void Daphne dear.” Theo turned and caught up to Draco entering the History classroom.

XXX

Ron and Neville left eh great Hall and followed at a discrete distance behind Draco and Theo, not close enough to hear the others conversation, yet close enough to act if something went wrong and they needed back up. Not seeing any hostilities so far from the Slytherin girl Neville glanced at Ron, “Have you considered Theo’s offer any more, carrying a child for you as a way to apologize for injuring you?”

The tips of his ears turning slightly red Ron did not bother glancing over to see Neville smirking, “I don’t think that will happen anytime soon, don’t get me wrong the few times I have been over and everyone got extremely horny I did enjoy Draco sucking me off, felt great matter of fact, but I don’t think I could ever go further with another bloke.” Catching Neville’s face out of the corner of his eye and seeing that he was not being made fun of but more of an honest curiosity there, “I am thinking about asking your Gran, with all her massive contacts to help me find someone I could consider as the mother of my children, I think Harry has the right of it, we have become too closely connected with each other intermarrying like we have been.”

“Are you sure you want to do that, while I think Gran would be pleased to do this as she is more excited lately than I have ever seen her before, won’t your mom…oh I don’t know go off if a scary howler sort of way?” Neville questioned as he frowned seeing Deven stiffen, he wondered what was said, but before he could say anything the girl seemed to deflate.

Ron nodded his head, “Mum is down right scary, if I mentioned this to her she would go out and have me married before letting me meet the girl, as much as she bad mouths pureblood traditions, secretly she would be right chuffed to do this, she would even plan out when each child would be born and their names, ‘shaking his head as the walked into the classroom to find a seat, “no way in bloody hell I am giving her that much control.”

Taking seats behind Draco Ron prepared to nap like normal, but quickly sat up when a real live person walked in from the back office.

The powerful witch in question seemed to float into the room and stood before the desk, glancing down at the charmed parchment showing the names of everyone sitting in the charmed chairs, “you can call me Professor Book, I am an archivist within the department of mysteries, and for the foreseeable future you will be learning history as you should have been form the beginning.”

Walking around to the front of the desk she leaned back against it, “The first thing you must realize is the department of Mysteries was founded six hundred and eighty seven years ago when the outgoing minister of magic overheard a conversation by the new minister and the plans to alter history to suit their needs, included in this plan was to start to loose knowledge and curtail the teaching of the more powerful aspects of our craft. The outgoing minister created the department to oversee and become keepers of the knowledge and history of out people, for one day in the future we would have a great need for this preserved knowledge.” She start pacing around the room, making sure she had each students undivided attention, “Luckily as each succeeding minister banned or declared dark magic that was more powerful than hew personally could cast, we in the department safe guarded this knowledge…and we have trained in its use, which makes us some of the most feared witches and wizards..”

“The very first thing that corrupt politician did all those years ago was send out hit teams to kill off everyone with the knowledge to produce wands that were a perfect match to each wizard or witch, “She glared angrily out the window as those students near her recoiled from the hate, “what he did not realize or even care was that a wand that is not a perfect match will corrupt the persons magical core thus with time lessoning the magic the can perform…making them less powerful than they were or could be.”

Back in front of he desk she took in the shocked and angry faces of all the students, some even sending looks of disgust at their wands, “my advice to all of you is to spend the time you would have spent this week in defense class seeking out Ollivander to have a new wand made and your old one destroyed. You would also be advised to seek out a competent healer to have your core examined over Yule holiday.”

Tapping her finger on the parchment on her desk she triggered the preloaded spell, after all she must keep the aura of awe she was creating around her, and three books appeared on the desk in front of each student, pointing her finger at the pile of books to the gapping students, “those will be your texts for the year, unlike the dragon dung you have bought in the past those texts are true and accurate.”

Finally moving to take her seat she glared over the class as a whole, “From now until Samhain we will be dealing with the top text very closely, as it is a history of the Sidhe, or as much as we have found out with our limited understanding of their culture.”

Slamming her hand down on her desk causing the students to jump, “make no mistake here the Sidhe are the rulers of magic…the rightful rulers I might add, and can kill someone with a thought,” leaning back in her chair she once more glanced at the parchment and considered all the triggers that were pre-charmed into the chairs and noticed that two of the chairs the charms had dissolved once the students sat down, shocked but not about to show it to the students, she left it for further study while the students had been set to reading. “My job is to instruct you in proper behavior around the Sidhe and to make sure you do not cause an incident that would lead the total enslavement of Wizarding kind.”

Leaning forward she scanned the students, “I can assure you the Sidhe would have no problem doing this and would not hesitate to do so if you cause a large enough incident.” Picking up the top book from her desk as an example, “you will read two chapter by the start of every class and you will commit it to memory. On October thirtieth you will be tested on the customs and cultures of the Sidhe and how to act around them, any fifth year who does not pass with at least nine out of every ten questions correct will be handed over to the Sidhe to be enslaved.”

“What …”came th voice form one of the Slytherin boys, “You can’t do that.”

“I assure you Anthony,” she told him coldly as she glanced down at her chart out of the corner of her eye, “we can and we will. The new government that is forming has no use for citizens that will be a danger to the rest of us, the next time the Sidhe invade the will wipe us out and keep the children for breeding purposes or sexual slaves, maybe both.”

‘The firs thing you must understand is that the Sidhe never lie, the might dance around the subject or misdirect you with their answer but they will never lie to anyone,” slamming her hand down again causing them to jump, “Why aren’t you writing this down, I am not up here talking for my own amusement.”

“The goblins have had a much longer history dealing with the Sidhe than we have, we know this by the contracts they put together, where a wizard would be satisfied with a half page contract, one drawn up by the goblins would be five or six pages long covering every possibility that would arise during the execution of that contract…” She lectured as the students finally shocked out of their stupor hurried to catch up with their note taking.
